I once had a white car.

White cars show every little speck of dirt, black cars show every little speck of dust.
The Megabus I am on at the moment is dark blue, so I picked that.
I picked “dark red” in the poll. Cherry red metallic 2012 Ford Mustang (mine does not have the white stripes). I decided, if I was going to get a sports car, I wasn’t going to get a subtle color. 
I never wanted a red car. But, the Volt I was looking at was the demo model and several thousand cheaper. It’s not a bad red. I voted “dark red.” Here’s what it looks like.
Oh, how I know this. I briefly had a black Honda Civic; it convinced me to never again have a black car unless I had a garage to put it in. This may also explain in part the popularity of silver cars–they hide dirt astonishingly well.
Ford calls my car’s paint color “Infra Red”. It’s hideous, and bright, and quite visible. It’s almost orangey. Not at all my choice in car colors, I would prefer a dark gray or silver, maybe.
