Does the inside count? I have a boring jet-black one, but the inside is filled with much color (including a searing crimson line that reads CANCELLED)
Considering my family ----- quite possibly.
Does “maroon” count as “red” or as “other”? I’ve never seen a passport I’d call “red”, but maroon is quite common.
You and I have very different concepts of claret.
Dark blue for both my Australian and US passports, and pretty much the same shade.
No, that’s clarete. This is claret
Clarete/clairet is a pink wine ~ rosé/rosado. Claret is an English term for Bordeaux red wine, usually a dark dry red, basically synonymous with burgundy as a colour.
Passport colour is a hot political topic in this Brexit nightmare world we live in currently in the UK. Our passports are currently ‘EU’ red (burgundy) - just had mine renewed, and was cross to see they’ve already removed ‘European Union’ from the cover, even though we haven’t left yet.
But one of the first announcements our Brexit overlords announced was that our passports would be returning to the traditional blue - well, that was worth it then.
I renewed early to make sure I got a red one. Small political stand on my part.
That’s not claret. That’s rosé.
Claret is the colour of bordeaux wine.
nm
Navy blue.
I’ve not been myself, but I’ve been told from some of my diplomat friends that Russian customs will specifically and only stamp the page in US passports with the bear on it.
That would seem sensible as a way to quickly find the stamp when you leave
Do you mean  as in “I was only joking, duh”, or as in “I cannot read and you cannot make me”? Do you realize how difficult it is to tell the difference in electronic communication?
I think my first one, from way back in the early 70s, was green. When I was in the Navy, I had a blue one and an official red one. Now I just have a blue one.
The Iranian passport is a dark deep red.
The Afghani passport is a sky blue.
Pakistani passport is currently green, but has also been beige and blue in the past and some types of passport (like official ones) are still blue.
I mean, Iraqi, Syrian, Yemeni, UAE passports are blue.
Qatarl, Bahraini, Iranian, Omani passport are red.
Mexican passports are green.
I voted “other”. I am in the UK and my passport’s burgundy. However, if the idiots get their way and we have to leave the blessed EU, it will be renewed with a blue one. Ironically, said blue passport generated due to leaving the EU will be made by an EU country and not by the UK.
It’s a REALLY dark blue though. From a distance they look black.
Both my passports are blue, which can be confusing at times.
Wow, I had no idea that this was the case. Ignorance fought.
