So English takes a word which refers to a specific wine and its specific shade, and uses it to refer to a different wine.

The English phrasing “X is for Y” does not necessarily mean that all Xs are Y. So he probably saw your comment as a needless nitpick.

What a coincidence. I was just going through some old papers and found a passport of mine from 1966. I was only 12 at the time and never actually used it. It was also green and my hair was a radical 60s crewcut.

My US passport is blue, but I did have a green one once. It was a special edition honoring Benjamin Franklin. They do stuff like that from time to time.

My U.S. passport is blue.

My wife’s Korean passport is green.

Argentina, dark blue.

Mine is a New Zealand passport, and it’s black. But then, black is kind of our national colour.
