I’ve never had a corn dog. I was probably 40 before I had my first sno-cone (I think I was 25 years too old for that). I’ve never had hard alcohol and really only sips of beer - not because of any prohibition against it, but because I think it tastes bad.
I’ve had one Big Mac in my life, and it was memorable for the reason I will describe here.
It was somewhere in eastern Minnesota in 1991; I was in college and had just finished finals and we were coming back from a week-long canoe trip in the Boundary Waters. This McDonald’s was memorable in itself because it was decorated in pink, mauve, and lavender, and looked like a bathroom. :o
I’ve never had lobster; how closely to crab does it taste, for those of you who have? I don’t like crab, and didn’t even like serving it when I was waitressing because of the smell. I would hold my breath while carrying it out to the table.
Frog legs are delicious! They really do taste a lot like white meat chicken.
I’ve never had baba ganoush, mainly because I know it’s made from eggplant and I have never had an eggplant dish that I liked.
I don’t drink alcohol. I have tasted beer and wine, but that’s it.
No Big Macs for me. I avoid fast food and chain restaurants, so I’ve never had most of their offerings. I tasted a McDonald’s quarter pounder once, and thought it was awful. I’ve had KFC and other fried chicken, and also Subway sandwiches, and I think I once had something from Taco Bell (back when it resembled a Mexican restaurant).
I’ve never had a raw oyster. Also, no escargot (to me, snails are vermin).
You gotta imagine someone takes a very thin sausage skin. They hock a giant loogie into it, piss in it, and drop in a pinch of sand. How can you possibly call that “nothing special”!
I’ve tried every five or ten years to like raw oysters. I really have. No success so far.
And yeah, it surprises me I’ve got a contribution for this thread, but a Big Mac and a Whopper both qualify. I’m not a fan of fast-food burgers, and as a kid we just had the tiny ones. Some day I’ll try a Big Mac, but it’s not something that sounds very exciting to me.
Right? I’m way too adventurous to miss out on something new I might like, but I did see one thing listed that I don’t ever remember trying because the smell of it (fried, at least) turns my stomach… Spam. Just no.
I feel like I must have had a bug at some point, but I can’t recall. I have had everything else mentioned so far. Off the top of my head, I can’t think of anything really common that I haven’t tried, but the hubby says he’s never had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. He avoids peanut butter and it’s taken years to convince him that pecans, almonds, etc. taste nothing like peanuts.
Never had rice, pizza, lobster, crab, fish of any kind (except fish sticks), tasted shrimp once (one of the worst things I’ve ever eaten), tea, alcohol, lamb, any Mexican food, any Japanese food, and Mac and cheese.
