What could be wrong with this fridge?

It has had the compressor replaced twice and had the refriderant replaced numerous times.

It goes through a three month cycle of hot and cold, in fact I woke up this morning to find everything in it frozen again. Now it will stay frozen for a few weeks, then a few months of normal operation. Then it gets hotter and the freezer comparentment is barely as cold as the lower fridge should be. Then one day I will wake up to find everything frozen REPEAT.

?

Make, mode, and how old it is might help you get more answers.

I’d say it first sounded like a damper issue, but it doesn’t explain why it would freeze for a few weeks and then go back to normal.

Sometimes there’s a temperature sensor in the airflow of the damper that can get knocked out of place that could cause some problems.

I have no clue what make and model it is actually, it is branded both Mabe AND Kelvinator, it is only about three years old.

My fridge has a label on the inside next to the door with serial number, model number, and stuff like that. Does yours have any labels visible there?

-D/a

Yes

serial 200908071300
model KF40PW3ETC

The model number makes no sense and the closest match on appliance sites is stoves made by Frigidaire .

Looks like it may be a White Westinghouse, grude.

Three years old an two replacement compressors? Why replace the refriderant? It does not wear out.

It sounds like the defrost cycle is not operating properly.

Fridge died a little over one year after purchase out of warranty, I suspected the compressor was bad due to lack of activity(it appeared to not be the original). I replaced the start relay since that is the cheapest option, didn’t work so I removed it. A repair man claimed the compressor and start relay were bad, new compressor died and we made him replace it with another which has held so far. Now it still was not cooling so he replaced the refrigerant which only worked for so long. He claimed there was nothing wrong with the defrost sensor.

EDIT:Oh I forgot to mention that the compressor and tubing on the back is covered in ice and freezing to the touch.
