What could i use as an emulsifier here.

Im making my own nasal drops (don’t ask why). Im using distilled water, hydrogen peroxide, grapefruit seed extract, tea tree oil, and eucalyptus oil, and salt. What emulsifying ingredient could I add that wouldn’t irritate my nasal passages?

I don’t know; maybe a little finely-ground rice flour or corn starch, but you’re not expecting the Hydrogen peroxide to retain its potency after being mixed with all that other stuff are you?

LOL, hence this question.

Aloe Vera gel might do it for you. If you can’t find any at the store, you can make your own by crushing the leaves of the plant.

I’d try an alcohol of some sort. Methyl-, ethyl-, propyl, and isopropyl I think would sting too much.

Maybe a glycol. Ethylene glycol can cause kidney damage, but not not likely just from a few drops every couple of hours. Propylene glycol is quite harmless, as it is used in many toothpastes and shold solubilize the non-polar ingredients a little better.

Thinking about it, propylene glycol might be better suited as the primary solvent, with enough water added to make it flow a little easier.

What, you mean you don’t have any carrageenan sitting around?

actually i think the grapefruit seed extract did the trick which sorta makes sense

Try an ultrasonic emulsifier. Take to any lab you have nearby. It will kill any germs in this thing too. But, donno how stable your emusion would be.
