…but my wife (30, white, SCAdian AOR/R&B fan environmental scientist 8 months preggie) likes it too, so it’s not just that.

“Nothern Exposure” is a good reference point. We’re on season 2, I think, in S.A. free-to-air TV - Luke’s nephew has just moved into town.

I love it. “Lorelei” is about my age so I love catching the GenX references, and I have similar coloring (though sadly, not similar features) to her. And as an admirer of “The Preppy Handbook” to this day, I love the glimpse into the elder Gilmores’ hoity-toity old-money world.
