In the Dave Matthews Band song I Did It, he never mentions what it is that he did? What did he do?
Well, here’s a link that has 2 pop ups(!!!) to the lyrics. It seems he’s trying to spread the love, and if that’s a crime, then he’s “guilty as charged”.
It’s ambiguous, but “it” sounds like a drug offense to me,
“I’m mixing up a bunch of magic stuff A magic mushroom cloud of care A potion that’ll rock, the boat will rock And make a bomb of love and blow it up” … “It’s a nickel or a dime for what I’ve done/
The truth is that I don’t really care for such a lovely crime/ I’ll do the time You better lock me up I’ll do it again”
Five-to-ten seems like a pretty common sentence for trafficking.
Erm… so is it Drugs, or is it Love?
