What did you have engraved on your iPod?

I don’t understand how this is even supposed to work. iPods don’t even vibrate…

Mine says

“Merry Christmas,
Love Angie”

My current girlfriend isn’t quite fond of my ex’s name on it, but hey…

I got a Nano as the company xmas gift two years ago. But for the fact they engraved the company name & my name on it I’d have regifted it immediately. It’s only been out of the box once to prove it would turn on. Useless waste.

My name and phone number, of course. Boring, but if I lose it I have a chance of getting it back.

Phenomenal cosmic power…
Itty-bitty living space.

For My Wife Real Name

I engrave for a living, and we engrave iPods…though not for free! Mostly we engrave names, phone numbers and email addresses. But the first iPod I ever engraved was a birthday gift to a guy’s girlfriend, and he had me engrave this long phrase he said he found on the iPod website, about the music going 'round in your head…I have it saved on the engraving computer, so I’ll post it after work tomorrow. About a year later he came in to have another iPod engraved…new girlfriend.

Mine says “To my dream come true. Love, Joey”

I was a bit taken aback by this gift from a boyfriend of one month at Valentine’s Day. We didn’t last much past Flag Day.

Mine’s quite creative…

Hey LSLGuy, if you’re not using it I’ll take it. If anybody asks me why there’s somebody else’s name on my iPod, I’ll even tell them a rolicking yarn about pirates, revenge, death, true love and music that culminates in a mighty duel to the bread* in which I valiantly defeat you and take your music player. And I’ll pay for shipping, too.

WOW! You must have connections. They limited me to two lines of 20 characters each!
:stuck_out_tongue:

Hey this seems to be an appropriate place to ask (slight hijack):

I just got an IPod nano for X-Mas yesterday… in the packaging are 2 (two) Apple logo stickers… but they seem too big to actually apply to the nano. What am I supposed to do with those, other than stick them on the cats?

No engraving on the back, either…

You stick them someplace where many people will see them, so that the Apple Marketing department won’t feel bad about giving you free stickers.

“flag on the moon”

From The Beast of Yucca Flats.

To be fair, I stole the idea from Alistair Mccello.

I think it is very beautiful that you fell in love with a woman named Real Name. -wipes away tear-

Perhaps this is not in the spirit of the thread, but since an iPod is in one of several positions/situations and none of these actually EXPOSE the back, why engrave at all? I mean, I get it. I do. Really. But that’s a huge expense for essentially a one-time sweet moment/ funny bit.

I like the idea of having a small screen saver on it as it plays, but I know that that would drain them faster. The kids gave their mom one for the holidays and they wanted it engraved, so I had that done. Mine is encased in silicone AND permanently nested in the white plastic mount clip for the transmitter I have in the car. It’d take about 5 minutes just to SEE the back.

Apple was offering free engraving when I bought it - and even if I’d have to take the case off to see it, I know it’s there.

“If found please avenge my death.”

Also, Cartooniverse, not everybody packs their personal music devices up like Faberge eggs.

I got one for Christmas too, from Santa!

I figured out the “Make the Marketing Department Happy” stickers, but what the fuck is that white holder thingy for? It isn’t stable, it doesn’t hook onto anything else in the box… the best I can do with it is place it on top of the nano and pretend it’s a hard-hat, but even then, it tends to fall off rather quickly!
