What's engraved on your Ipod?

What’s engraved on the back of your Ipod? Bon mots, name and phone, personal philosophy in 27 letters or less?
Mrs. Furthur

I ended up getting an open box discount on mine so I got it at a retail store, not onlione through Apple so mine doesn’t say anything. :frowning:

I did give it a lot of thought though, but never came up with anything good. There was a really good site where everybody posted their inscriptions; I’ll see if I can dig that up later. I think my favourite was “If found, please avenge my death

I have engraved several ipods over the last few months, mostly with names and phone numbers. But last night I had a customer who had a very long quote for me to engrave on one…he had already had Apple print “Happy 23rd Birthday” and a name on it for him. The quote he gave me seemed like it came for an Apple list of “quotes for iPods”, because that was the header line on the printout he had. Let me attempt to remember it…

“The music gets stuck in your mind and the dance is in your heart and the whole scene is engraved on your soul. You can fly.”

Okay, I cheated…I called work and asked them to read me the workorder because I couldn’t remember it! So far that’s the most creative, and expensive, message I’ve engraved. And I did it for him in 1/3 the usual time because he came in right before closing and we really needed the money!

My boss says she heard from someone that the pressure of the engraving tip we use can damage the internal workings of the iPod. I told her they were sturdier than that, and we don’t use that much pressure. Any thoughts?

Just my name. My parents gave it to me for Christmas. I would have wanted my email address on there though (phone number can change, but email address is permanent).

“Thanks from FreeGiftPlanet.com

Mine has a line of Catullus on it.

odi et amo
i hate and i love

Why, yes, I am a geek.

I must be a geek, too, then. I want Latin on mine:

dux femina facti

“the leader of the action was a woman”

But I have no idea if engraving the thing could damage the insides.

All that’s on the back of mine is “Serial No. JQ4311…”

I bought the thing for myself, and couldn’t think of anything to put on it that was worth the few days delay in getting it to me.

Fingerprints. Lots and lots of them.

I engraved one for a teen the other day with name and phone number because, as his mother pointed out, email’s change but that family landline is going nowhere any time soon. I have 5 current email addresses and have about 6 defunct emails (banned from AOL, changed service providers, etc.) I’ve had my phone number for 10 years and intend on keeping it forever. A landline still works when the power goes out, remember! My cell phone number doesn’t get used for anything permanent because I may lose it if I don’t keep paying for my service on time.
