I recieved an AC/DC T-Shirt from stepson. This would have seemed most inappropriate except that I have been getting back into guitar lately and have been learning how to play the opening riff from “Back in Black”. He didn’t know this. I am pretty much oblivious of Rock Bands which appeared after 1971.
From husband: Some candle scent thingies, a couple of cds (bluegrass (yay!) and Nickelback (wtf?)), some pajamas, and a wonderful USB heated lap robe. I have measurable toastiness.

(Okay, some of these were for my birthday, but I still got them on Christmas.)
Fudge, cookies, a personalized mousepad, magnetic notepad, calendar, mukluks, slippers, socks, chocolate, body lotion, In N out gift card, Pick up Stix gift card, WalMart gift cards, cash, perfume.
Things were pretty simple for me this year: Money ($450 total), gift cards (Borders & Macys) and clothes all around. And my brother got me a book containing every single Dilbert comic, which weighs about 20 pounds.
My friends gave me a tookit! I promptly went out and added a power drill to it, then used it to assemble the casters onto the Ikea art-supplies cabinet I had bought earlier. I now have a decent set of tools for the first time in my life.
I also got a set of really nice dishes (heavy and squarish, in strong solid colours). I also got, not quite as a present, an electronic cutting machine. Now I can download vector artwork and make stencils of it! And from another friend I picked up a deal on a used SLR.
I got an M-Audio Fast Track Pro, two microphones, and accompanying mic stands. I also got an Alpine Type-R 10" subwoofer for my car, which I picked out…
Yes, Satellite_Gal kicks ass at picking out gifts…
For the first time in 47 years, I first thought that I had gotten anything. both my mother and sister are going through difficult times (not financial) and since we’re busy with our baby, then we agreed to not exchange presents this year. My wife is tied up with the baby and we agreed to not worry about it this year.
My mom did send some presents for Beta-chan.
After thinking that this was the first time to never get anything, Beta-chan looked up with the biggest grin a 2 1/2 month-old can give and it became the best Christmas ever.
Can I come to your house for dinner tdn? You have so much cool stuff.
I got some very stylish workout clothes from my sister.
My mother got me a travelling Martini set.
My inlaws gave us 200 which we promptly spent.
My daughter is giving me a hair cut but I haven't made the appointment yet. (I know this sounds crazy but I tend to be unwilling to spend on a hair cut so I only cut my hair once or twice a year and the last haircut I got was a Super Cuts mistake that I’ve been waiting to fix)
Step daughters gave us some Jazz Icons DVDs and home made truffles.
Got a Chia Herb Garden too! I’m excited but not altogether confident that I won’t kill the herbs. We’ll see.
And homemade dried apples from my brother which are really addictive (and gone)
I almost forgot my two favorite gifts. Two bottles of Scotch. Macallan 12 and Macallan 15 from my very good friends. Scotch…Good!
We all had a good xmas, present-wise.
Big ticket-
from the 'rents: Adobe fireworks
from the hubby: Adobe dreamweaver upgrade
Budding website designer much?
Also, lots of crossword puzzle books (by request), gift cards to Amazon, REI and Title 9 - all spent, books, music, garden gloves, and a tight black sweater.
Hubby got a case of a wine that we’ve been looking for and I could only find in 1/2 bottles - that’s really a joint prezzy. Motorcycle body armor and footpegs. Also, an iPod Nano and wireless wrist remote for skiing.
We also received some neat art from respective parents. And Cabot cheese - Yum!
I got a 1/2 hour massage from the kids. They all chipped in on it. Now I just have to call and make the appointment.
Husband gave me a photo to digital converter scanner thingy, that I’ve been playing with today. I have most of the family pictures that my parents have, so now I can do something good with them.
He also gave me the Perelandra Trilogy by C. S. Lewis, which replaces the ones I had years ago that fell apart.
And a set of DVDs of three movie musicals.
Not to mention the present that was under my pillow when I went to bed Christmas Eve. That’s an outfit we won’t be showing the kids.
The best present? Three different times in four days all the kids and grandkids were in the same place and we got to spend time with a lot of the rest of the family, too.
And along those lines, he got a couple of Wii games, so he’s been spending significant amounts of time playing those with the daughters. It’s been fun for him and them, and for me to see.
Candles from my ex-husband
Dog and cat food, and treats from my awesome next-door neighbors
A heated mattress pad from my mother
Tales of Beedle the Bard, A War of Gifts and a calendar from myself
A new home for one of my kittens from a co-worker, yay!
