What discontinued items do you miss?

You can find these at a Menard’s store…I sold 3 boxes yesterday

Piccadilly jelly cookies, frosted apple pop tarts and frosted grape pop tarts! They were the best!

The greatest breakfast cereal in history, Just Right with Fruit and Nut by Kelloggs. I think the plain version is still available in Canada, but I don’t know about the fruit and nut version.

And it’s the best cereal EVER. Damn you Kelloggs!

Amazon has a bunch of DVD VCR combos you can buy. Some are under $100, all are new presumably.

YES! I just got the new power version today and it smells like either “Decorative soaps at Grandma’s” or “old lady gang bang in the detergent aisle”

Reusable shopping bags made of anything other than cheap, lightweight plastic, and having SEPARATE handles for hand carrying AND genuine shoulder straps attached at the ends of the bag.

Diet Crystal Pepsi, the Geo Prizm, and that brand of bottled water that came before Aquafina and Dasani.

Koufax on the mound at Dodgers Stadium.

Dang you, whoever said to try the “natural” Cheetos as a replacement cheez ball. It’s definitely not the same, and the first time around I didn’t like them too much, but now I’m addicted to a whole new thing..

Hershey’s European Style Dutch Processed Cocoa. They replaced it with Hershey’s Cocoa Special Dark blend of natural and Dutched cocoas. It isn’t as good, and the other Dutched cocoas available cost substantially more.

Chapstick with hexachlorophene. It removed the layer of dead skin and healed cracked lips quickly. Unfortunately they decided that hexachlorophene was too toxic.

Chef Boyardee lasagne kit in a box.

Johnnie Walker Green Label. By far my favourite JW whisky, reasonably priced to boot and they discontinued it in 2012. There are still bottles of it about but now it’s waaay overpriced.

Chun King’s Egg Foo Yung kit.

Granted, I live in Hawaii, so these things may still be available. In that case, they’re not in stores here anymore, and that will probably make me sadder*
Swanson TV Dinner: veal parmigiana flavor
Frosted Apple pop-tarts (the kind with the layer of icing, not the stripes)
Diet vanilla coke
Quaker Instant Grits: cheese flavor
McDonald’s apple danish (not the pie, but a steam-heated breakfast pastry)
Doo Dad’s snack mix (which I see in post #127)
Chuckles jelly candy

  • Not that sad, as I see the weather reports for my New England friends

Mine are all beverage-related.

Diet Vanilla Coke (why? why? why? it was so much better than plain Diet Coke!)
Apple Slice (the apple-flavored version of Slice)
New York Seltzer (especially the cream soda version)
Crystal Pepsi
Sprite Remix

Tender Vittles. My elderly cat doesn’t seem to be all that happy with either dry food or wet food, but he goes ape over the soft pill pockets made by Greenies, which are basically very expensive Tender Vittles.

Right now I miss sunlight and clear roads.

Almond Yorkie bar

Little Tree car fresheners used to have an aroma called “Spice” that smelled kind of like Old Spice aftershave (but not quite). A few years ago, they reformulated the Spice scent so now it smells like cinnamon. I miss the old one.
