What discontinued items do you miss?

Progresso used to make this cheap boxed lasagna-making kit that was really tasty. I’m sure it didn’t measure up as actual lasagna but the product was yummy.

It wasn’t like hamburger helper, it was actual lasagna, with layers and everything.

OMG, you just reminded me of El Paso Enchiladas, I don’t know if they are discontinued or not but when I was 16 and we were all pissed they were great!

Teaberry flavored ice cream. My Grandmother always had it in the icebox for me.

Fisherman’s Friends throat lozenges, from before they changed the formula to make them taste like any other cough drop.

I forgot to mention…Howard Johnson’s frozen Macaroni and Cheese. It had this crispy topping on it and was creamy. Mmmm.

I’ve seen the TGI Friday’s Potato Skins, but never in a BBQ flavor.

I heard this morning that they have changed the recipe for Cadbury Easter Eggs. The citizenry is revolting in England, I hear. No more “dairy milk” chocolate, it’s now some other heavily sweetened coco that is as sweet as the filling, they say. I can’t believe it.

I now miss them in advance.

[li]Mennen Speed Stick antiperspirant in the “Fresh” scent, not the crappy “Power” version that they are currently selling. Apparently, after Colgate-Palmolive bought Mennen, they discontinued the original non-“Power” version. I had used the previous version for 30 years (since high school). The new “Power” version is completely repulsive and smells terrible. After using the same product for decades, I’ve been forced to start trying competing products. Great way to lose a loyal customer.[/li][li]McDonald’s “Hot Mustard” dipping sauce: after getting me hooked on this back in the '80s (also 30 years ago), they discontinued this sauce last year.[/li][li]McDonald’s “Jalepeno Double” cheeseburger. This was the best new burger they’ve had in years, and they just stopped selling it last week.[/li][/ul]

This is still for sale.

Real chemistry sets with real chemicals. Now everything has to be environmentally friendly, meaning you really can’t buy any chemicals.

I’ve driven a few 90’s-era Saturns, and I’ve owned a BMW from the same era. Nothing against the Saturns, but I can’t say I agree with this statement.

As I mentioned earlier, the Kraft version tastes nothing like the original. Thanks anyway.

You’re telling me.

:rimshot:

As far as I know, Smucker’s is the only national brand that makes real peanut butter (as opposed to the peanut flavored shortening that most companies make.)

I could eat a case of those in one sitting. Last I had any was from a grocery outlet store (called, appropriately enough, Grocery Outlet) back about ten years ago.

Sigh.

Button-up sweaters (men’s style). It’s been thirty-some ++ years since I last found one. (To be sure, I gave up even looking for them a long time ago. Do they still exist anywhere?) All I ever see anymore is pullovers.

Try a thrift store? I work in one, and am pretty sure I’ve seen such sweaters here.

Yeah, these

And several different varieties of Stouffer’s frozen meals
They used to make a really tasty basic Chili with Beans
And a really yummy Ham and Aspargus Bake, a sort of ham and asparagus pot pie in a cream sauce with a lattice pastry crust
Stouffer’s also used to make a corn pasta with a Mexican spiced cheese sauce as part of a short-lived international side dish line, I can’t remember exactly what they called the item. But I wish there were more corn pasta dishes available.
And back in the 1970’s they made a couple of different savory crepe dishes, one had a ham and cheese filling and I think they also made one with a creamed chicken vegetable filling.

Stonewall Kitchens used to make a delicious vermouth based Martini Mustard - I was incredibly annoyed with them when they picked that one to discontinue instead of one of their many oversweet honey maple fruit flavored mustards.

Get to know a knitter. Most of us love knitting special requests. If I didn’t have such a long “to do” list I’d volunteer.

Check ebay for the search term “ruminahui”

I have bought 2 in the last couple of years, actually one is a button cardigan and one is a full zipper sweater; they are made with alpaca wool and sometimes have alpacas woven into the design. both of the ones I bought were around $30.00 each.

I just checked and this is pretty much identical to the one I have; I hope it isn’t against the law to post ebay sales here… cowering in corner.

I really like my wool sweaters so I might just grab this one too.
