Do deer vocalize? Or are they silent like giraffes?
They grunt. Among other noises.
Here you’ll find a dozen of the noises they make. http://www.kerrlake.com/deer/sounds.htm
Stupid deer. Giant rural rats, they are.
Tastier than urban rats, tho.
According to ex-rock star and noted wild life expert Ted Nugent, they wouldn’t say much because they don’t think much.
Just so you know, giraffes make noise too.
Deer stamp and blow as a warning. (walk outside and blow your nose as hard as you can, quickly- it sounds like that) When courting, they grunt and vocalize a little. Search for “deer bugle”.
Ronald C. Semone is going to send me a dry cleaning bill. Correction: blow *air out of your * nose as hard as you can. Don’t actually blow your nose. Sorry.
I’ve heard them make strange barking noises. Not really barking, but hard to describe. Vaguely similar to the sound of a pneumatic tool being operated at your next- next door neighbor’s house.
D’oh…a deer
A female deer!
You couldn’t resist could you ** QtM** go on admit it
It’s a reflex.
So??? Did anyone try out my nice linkies to deer sounds??? Hmmmmmm? I’m waiting, people!
Of course! I’m just wating to hear the breeding bellow from a woman, now.
The audio files are broken for me.
I’m not sure of the species that I’m hearing, but a few times in the English Lake District I’ve heard them make a strange barking noise, almost like somebody shouting “aaarrgghhh” loudly from a distance.
I was told it was a specific species of deer that did this, but I’ve forgotten which it was.

Giraffes only vocalize when they’re dying.

Some species of deer are highly vocal. Male Red Deer, known in North America as Elk or Wapiti, make very loud calls known as bugling during the mating season.
Bummer. Works fine for me.
Nee.
Did you mean “ni”?
