What do folks in other countries think about US election craziness?

Well, if Brazil, then they have mucho craziness themselves.

Oh, and I forgot the Philippines in the list of ‘democracies’ that are pretty damn bad.

Argentina

:face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Boy, do they.
Argentina’s president already congratulated Biden on his victory.
Brazil’s… Is a Trumpist and a fascist, but I repeat myself.

The one and only good result is to give the presidency to the person who wins the most popular votes.

Every election in which the candidate who gets the most popular votes lists the election is unconscionable.

Allocating electoral votes proportionately on a state by state might make that happen more often than it goes now.

So, no.

D’oh!

My apologies. Right continent is NOT close enough.

This is something Americans get curiously burned up about, but those in other functioning democracies know that winning a plurality isn’t necessarily a good or sufficient result.

I’ma taking your word on that.

Canadian support for Trump was said to be 16% by pollsters. Because I would never admit to voting for the man - and because many Canadians would be highly critical of supporting this President - it is probably slightly higher.
