What do the products like Metab-a-Life and Stacker II do? (Do they even work!?)

I’m interested in this, as I’ve been wondering if they actually help. I’m wanting to get into better shape, and want to drop a few pounds (like 15-20) and I hear that these “fat burners” are out there, but I want to ask you guys what you think of them, so…

…what are they, what do they do, do they even work, and which ones are REALLY the best?

I believe metab-a-life and Stacker II contain ephedra, which is a very powerful stimulant. By some, considered perfectly safe, but some are more skeptical. I’ve read reports of spontaneous heart failure due to it.

I’d imagine “Stacker II” is an “ECA” stack, which stands for ephedrine, caffeine, aspirin. Ephedrine and caffiene mix well to make a very powerful stimulant, and aspirin thins the blood to disburse it effectively (I believe).

I tried an ECA stack once, and it gave me a ridiculous amount of energy. I worked out way more than I should’ve. In any case, later that night, I had one of the most severe stomache aches (or some abdominal pain) I’ve ever had, and have avoided them since.

The best way to get in shape is the same now as it always has been;

get up, exercise.

No, seriously.

It may be hard at first (making a good hard firm bet with a friend of colleague as to the chances of your success may help to motivate you though. :wink: ), but eventually you will gain the stamina necessary to keep at it. (if you do not already possess it that is, depends on where on the ‘lazy bum’ scale you fall. :slight_smile: )

I am currently losing 1-2 pounds a month;

and eating about 2-3x as many calories per day as I likely should be. :smiley: :smiley: :smiley:

Seriously though, just get up and start running/walking/riding/whatever. It may not give you Buns Of Steel™ or such, but it will help to drop those few extra pounds.

That and stimulates take away the most gratifying part of getting in shape;

waking up one day and realizing that you have LOADS more energy to go through the day with then you did before. :slight_smile: It isn’t quite worth as much when it is the artificial chemicals working. . . .

All those so called fat burners are nonprescription stimulants.

As was stated,if you’re working out more energy=usually a hareder,longer,workout,therefore more calories burned.

Of course you could do this with coffee,but most iron pumpers avoid this.Funny that what they avoid is in those metabo-whatever pills.Also MaHuang which is a chinese herb that contains ephedra a stimulant.

If you’re not working out any longer or harder and not eating less,those pills would do nothing for you in terms of weight loss.
Coffee,tho,is known to supress hunger so maybe it’s the caffeine that does this.Possibly the ephidrene does it too,but it’s not a heavy duty hunger suppressor.

For 10 or 20 lbs.do what I did.Slim fast (or a generic equivalent) It’s just a lo-cal milkshake with cellulose and guar gum that expand in your stomach with the liquid to give you a less than hungry feeling.

Worked for me within 1mo./6 week period.dropped 12 lbs and 3 inches on the waist.
This from a 195+ lb.body and no increase in activity level.

Throw in exercise if you’re not too lazy,like I am-you’ll lose more.
