I loved the thread analysing the song Night The Lights went Out in Georgia.
What others songs don’t quite make sense we (or someone here) can question?
I am the Walrus
(Sits back and watches the flailing begin.)
Ventura Highway. Nobody has successfully explained “aligator lizards in the air” to me.
Poetry. It’s a nice image.
Did Prince ever acknowledge this song provided him with the idea for “purple rain”?
Not if you spell “alligator” correctly.
People were unclear on what “Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia” was about??
The alligator lizard is an actual species of lizard, native to California and the Pacific Coast, up into Canada. They do leap from tree to tree or bush to bush.
I’ve never been able to figure out what this from “A Horse With No Name” meant:
…
Under the cities lies a heart made of brown
But the humans will give no love"
…
What is a heart made of brown?
Well, there you go. Much easier to figure these things out if you have the correct lyrics! Thanks.
Lest we forget, America is the band that wrote and first recroded “Muskrat Love”, so I think it safe to say a lot of drugs were being taken during their writing sessions.
I could have lived my whole life without knowing about these, thankyouverymuch! Creepy.
