What do they do with aborted fetsuses?

In a chat room, a guy I know and I started discussing what they do with fetsuses after they abort them. I got curious, and decided to ask. Do they incinerate them? Do they freeze them? Do mischevious scientists go to supermarkets and replace tomatoes with fetuses?

What do they do with the things?

Don’t you watch South Park? Christopher Reeve eats them.

Seriously, you may be picturing something that is not quite accurate. Perhaps you should read up on when abortions are done, then do further research using textbooks that discuss the stages of pregnancy.

Finally, you can check guidelines and regs.

Circus Peanuts.

I’m glad I don’t like Circus Peanuts, because I don’t think I’d be ever to eat one again after reading that…

It seems the practice varies, but from what I can gather, it seems they’re usually incinerated. See section 2.7 (bottom of page) of this website:

Apparently in some cases, the patient may bury the fetus if she so chooses.

Note that the above cite is from a British journal. I think in the United States, the procedure for disposal of fetuses depends on individual state law. But I still think incineration is the most common means of disposal.

IANAD, so I’m sure a medical professional could give you a better answer.

Soylent Pink.

Sorry, I just had to…

Probably a few are used for research as well.

In Europe, the sometimes feed them to pigs.

(busy searching for cite…)

The same thing the city of New York did with King Kong after he hit the pavement.

The give fetusses summonses for littering and illegal parking?

Thanks for my new sig line!
