What do you believe firmly with zero evidence?

Ain’t just roosters that have the spurs.

Yeah but I’ve never been attacked by a hen unless they were setting.

I grew up on a chicken farm. A couple times a year we switched out several of the chickens for newer ones, and the spurs got me pretty often when I’d carry them to the truck. Considering they were gonna be soup soon, I probably had it coming.

The bullet Alec Baldwin fired was placed by a Trumper as revenge for his SNL routines.

I just read about the New York guy a couple of days ago. Two $10 million dollar wins in three years. And not even Powerball, just on scratch offs! He should go to Vegas and bet it all on red.

My nightmare belief with no evidence is that there is just blackness but we will be aware of it. Kind of like the ultimate sensory depravation tank.

They probably spend a lot on tickets though.

I’d levy that, while your assertion may be true in some situations, this trend is a direct result of stigma against poor people. There are certainly some other valid explanations, too, though, or some other stigmatized characteristics (of the poorly treated in court, that is) at play.

I totally believe the rapture will happen. No one knows when and why hurry it?

Unfortunately my brain pretty much does that when I ask it for a dissenting opinion.

Brain: “You know if you died, and could be revived somehow…even years later. It would still be you right?? Doesn’t that wipe out the idea of reincarnation pretty much?”

Shut-up brain.

It doesn’t negate my 80% sureness we’re in a simulation though.

My supposition is that death is like dreamless sleep - there is utterly no concept of time passing.

Basically, death is a return to where you were before you were born. You weren’t “waiting” to be born then, and you won’t be reminiscing back once you’re gone.

Pharmaceutical companies and the health care industry overall has zero interest in curing people (this is NOT to impugn nefarious motives to actual physicians and nurses and other health care workers); big pharma and big $$$ healthcare wants to treat people just enough to keep them alive long enough so that they can bill them (or, more accurately their insurance companies), over and over and over again. They milk sick people like a chocolate cow.

It’s basic cui bono.

I believe The Rapture has already happened and we all just Left Behind.

Yeah but that’s sort of the foundation why I think it’s not “death- life-then death forever”

I mean why have the life phase then?

It does, however, impugn nefarious motives to all the doctors, researchers, and engineers who are working hard to develop cures and treatments, often motivated by family or friends who suffered those very diseases.

Why does there have to be a reason?

Also (addressing the OP), Robert Wagner killed Natalie Wood.

I basically agree with this.

I don’t think that all physicians, nurses, and other workers are in the inner circle, and living high on the hog.

But my (anecdotal) experience makes me suspect that Big Pharma sometimes incentivizes providers to make decisions in Big Pharma’s interests, at the expense of patients’.

Until the opioid crisis became a “crisis”, it was just business as usual.

Big Pharma apparently has started using a patient’s mother to argue against the Prescription Drug Pricing Plan that is part of Build Back Better. She’s been on TV claiming that governmental interference will stifle innovation thus harm her young son – who just happens to have some incredibly rare disease.

Let’s say some pharmaceutical company finds a cure for him – what are they gonna do when they discover they can’t afford it?

Now, there is an interesting typo.

I’ll push back on this one a bit. Just in the last few months it looks like several people with AIDS may have been cured. Also spine implants are allowing once paralyzed people to walk again. Several forms of cancer are now curable. Slow but sure, progress is being made.

I actually believe this also, but I think it was an accident. I always wondered if Wagner, known to have gay affairs, didn’t drunkenly start/try to start something with Christopher Walken and she walked in on it.

How do you know it was a typo? :stuck_out_tongue:

I think therefore I am. That much I know.

But as to you guys, I believe in you despite the total lack of evidence. Well, most of you anyway.
