Hmmm…now, i think of strapping tape as having fibers running through it.
It’s sticky tape.
Duct tape works much better for that application.
Is it actually branded ‘Cellotape’ anywhere in the world? The one I’m familiar with is called ‘Sellotape’.
‘Cellotape’ would be the stuff you use for temporarily fixing stringed instruments.
