We’ve recently moved into a new building and two of our walls are windows and we are on the south side of the building. Something is going on so that the heating/cooling hasn’t been very effective to balance out the heat/cold from the windows. So we have ranged from 61 in February at the lowest to 79 most days now at the highest. I am betting in August we will reach at least 85 degrees. We have a thermometer so we can talk about the temperature (constantly) and I have found that I am quite content at around 77. I turn my under-desk heater off just out of courtesy when our area reaches 75 though.
I hate, hate, hate being cold yet 74 and especially 76 is too much, particularly after lunch when one is feeling sleepy. 72 or even 70 is fine. But no 60’s.
72-76 is great for me. I’d be fine with it up to 80 actually. I don’t know if this is a factor, but my body temp tends to run low, (97.3ish). If I’m at what is considered normal I have a fever.
Depends on the season. Winter: 65. So I can feel comfortable in sweaters, not hot and itchy. Summer: 75. So I can wear cute summery shirts and skirts and not turn blue.
I’d say 72 is reasonable, but it’s too cold for me. Sitting at a desk all day makes me feel cold all over, so I prefer it warmer. I’d like it at 76, but I know that’s too warm for a lot of folks.
That’s cuz they crank the durn AC up so much during the summer. I have an adjustable vent above my desk, in the summer I close it to block the cold air, and in the winter I open it to get as much heat as possible.
I think you are hitting on what I was getting at. 72 is too warm for me, but if we put it at what I would prefer most people would be cold. I think 72 is a reasonable compromise.
