If he does do all these terrible things, though, I should think the outcry would be huge. I think his threats are all posturing, to satisfy his base —and they do not need satisfied all that much because he has what he wants: to avoid jail, and play golf, and grift the govt. Too many big foreign policy decisions will get in the way of all of that. He will have to work much too hard. Yet, he does now have cabinet members who may create horrible chaos. However, I do believe in preparing for the worst and hoping for the best, so I do take your comment seriously.
I imagine #1 is the most likely to happen pretty much immediately. Some variation on #5 is how I expect him to handle the Panama Canal.
His pick as the Border Czar, the evil Tom Homan, has already stated he will implement #6. But now they are backing down about the planned ICE raids in Chicago this coming week because it was leaked to the press. I was looking forward to them trying to arrest Gov. Pritzker or Mayor Johnson or one of our alderman. That would have been very entertaining. And a huge fail.
That’s the thing; Trump doesn’t need to do all that much, personally. He just needs to unleash the fanatics and lunatics he’s surrounded himself with, they’ll do the actual work. So his laziness doesn’t matter much.
Yes, I am baffled by the people who take comfort in the assumption that Trump is too lazy, unfocused or incompetent to accomplish the things he says. He is all these things, but he’s staffing his White House and Administration with zealots who are extremely driven, focused and fully capable of twisting the machinery of government to their ends. And they’ll be all the more motivated to produce for their MAGA audience because they know that the Constitution or actuarial tables will create an opening for someone else to pick up the MAGA battle flag.

So it looks like he’s declaring a state of emergency on day one and pushing across about 100 executive orders.
It may be all bluster, but I wouldn’t count in it.

I’m curious where you saw the state of emergency business. I expect he will invoke the Insurrection Act at some point in some of the Democrat led cities but I would think he will wait until some violent pushback happens. Do you have a cite for that?
I’ve seen the 100 executive orders in some other thread but I would also enjoy seeing cites for this happening and possibly what they will be.
I don’t intend to question this happening, I would just like to see where the info is coming from so I can moderate my anxiety/drinking level as is appropriate.

It’s asinine: foreigners on US soil are clearly subject to the jurisdiction of US laws whether they’re here lawfully or not. 
But now this will have to go to a court challenge, and we have to hope the Supreme Court groups this “argument” with Trump’s idiotic 2020 election challenges and not his immunity argument.
And if they don’t, it’ll be “leopards eating faces” central! Up to now, you proved your citizenship with your birth certificate, period, end of story. Just how do you go about proving your citizenship when challenged if the Supremes back Trump on this? And if anyone thinks Trump and MAGA officials across the nation will only use this on brown people (which would be bad enough), I’ve got a bridge to sell them!
