Any other answer is meaningless.
Ah, but do you shave off a slice from the bar with your pen-knife before lathering up?
Nivea body wash - ph balance is key. Three ways soap damages your skin.
I use French milled lilac soap at the sink and in the shower. It gets me really clean, doesn’t dry my skin and the bars last forever - even though I shower daily, sometimes twice daily, I’ve had the same bar of milled soap in my shower since July. The sink bar will last a year or more.
Let’s see… in terms of basic shower products I’m probably more dinosaurian than anyone else here.
I use either Irish Spring or Dial soap, and either Prell or Head & Shoulders shampoo.
Mostly I make my own olive oil/coconut oil/crisco soap in bar form, but when I run out it’s usually Trader Joe’s bar soap. Husband uses the same. We’ve always used the same shower products and neither of us likes body wash, if only because it makes the shower a little more slippery and dangerous.
On the advice of a dermatologist, who said “Oh, I’ve seen drier skin than yours” in a tone that left the unspoken “but not very often” hanging in the air :D, I’ve switched to shower oil. I didn’t even know it existed six weeks ago, but it does seem to be helping.
Before that, I used shower gel, just because it felt nicer and more convenient than a bar of soap.
Ivory for me, or sometimes the no-name equivalent.
(And when the bar gets small, I Vulcan mind-meld it onto the new bar. We all do this, right?)
I don’t use soap. I cover my body in olive oil and then scrape it off along with the layer of dirt
Bar soap tends to melt in my bathroom. I don’t have a soap tray that’s out of the way, I dunno. I don’t like bar soap anyway. I use body wash. I like bath and body works vanilla, or the pink herbal essences.
I honestly don’t understand how the liquid stuff works.
I know how to wash with a bar of soap: Hold soap in hand, turn it over a few times to work up some lather, and then rub it over the parts of your body you want to wash. I wouldn’t know what to do with a bottle of liquidy stuff.
You have to have a rag, sponge or one of those poofy things, I believe.
Draw a line of liquid across the wall of your shower and let it drip down to the floor. Then roll yourself around on it to work up a good lather and then rinse off in the shower spray. Saves on cleaning the shower, as well.
A nice loofa is great because it exfoliates at the same time. I use one whether I happen to be using bar soap or body wash.
I generally don’t use body wash because I can almost never find the Old Spice original scent stuff - only scents like MOUNTAIN FRESH ARCTIC BLAST and other things that sound like Gatorade flavors.
That’s f—ing hilarious!!
You too kayak!
I read this same question on another message board, and it turned real nasty after 2 pages.
Soup.
Do you need Nancy Boy to go with the poofy thing?
Me I use bar soap, but as a bachelor I get to choose.
Ya put some of the liquid soap in your hand, “and then rub it over the parts of your body you want to wash.” Just like with a bar.
A close personal acquaintance.

“I was myself with a rag on a stick!”
Ok, really I use a shampoo/body wash bar from Lush (New scent if you are interested). Rub it on my head twice, lather and spread the lather over the bod. As a bonus, because it is a bar form, I can take it on an airplane and never have to worry about it leaking.
