Derrick Van Orden, R-WI, as expected, voted FOR the bill. However, at the 11th hour, he wrote a letter to the Wisconsin Governor urging him to sign the budget, which he did. Now, Derrick Van Orden, that voted FOR the BBB is claiming credit for the budget getting signed.
He seems to be under the impression that the budged, which the governor had been working on for weeks, was signed because he wrote a letter.
IOW, he voted FOR the BBB while also urging the governor to undermine it, which he was already planning to do, and is trying to take credit for both.
This feels exactly like when DeSantis (I think it was him) voted against covid relief funds, but still took credit for them when they got the money anyways.
