What do you think of this red-carpet fashion?

This link should take you right to an outfit that Jessica Simpson wore to the MTV VMA’s.

The columnist who gets to officially comment on these sorts of things just makes fun of the outfit, and the hair, and the boobs. (haha).

Personally, I think this look is really flattering. SURE, it’s a little revealing, but it is by NO means more revealing than what other folks have worn!

Anyway, just wondered what everybody else thought about it!

(figured this belongs in Cafe Society, since it’s about a TV show (VMAs), and a famous person(Jessica Simpson)).

I dunno about flattering - it seems tight and painful. The over tanned, over bleached, over made up thing doesn’t really work for me, either. It seems really aging.

I read the same article a few days ago and thought the same thing, while its not the best outfit she could have chose, its certainly not the worst either.

A bit too tight across her chest maybe but otherwise its a nice enough suit.

Makeup looks a bit orange however…

For someone who once dissed Britney and Christina for showing too much skin, Simpson is looking more and more like a porn star. Cleavage is fine, but that jacket’s from the Junior Miss department.

She looks like a dork.

I’ll confess to not knowing who that is, but she looks like a 50 year old head on a 20 year old body wearing something five sizes too small.

Is that suit an homage to a suite Angelina Jolie wore once to some event?

That is one dangerous outfit. If that button blows, she could put someone’s eye out.

Well, at least I’m not the only one who thought the person commenting was too over-the-top.

I just think she looks pretty, and if I had her body, I’d show it off too!

I wish I had her body! :stuck_out_tongue:

I think she could have made a better choice. The suit is attractive but doesn’t do her justice because it looks 5 sizes too small.

She used to have her own style but it seems lately she is falling into the pitfalls of what is trendy ala Christina, Brittney and Gwen.

Have you seen her new show with her hubby? She called him up and complained that she went into the underwear store and bought some panties and bras. She said she didn’t look at the bill, just signed the credit card purchase. When she got out it was $700. He told her to return them but she said she couldn’t. So he joked she would have to wear it as an outfit to save money. Maybe she got this suit 1/2 price in the Juniors Dept.

Who is her husband? Are they having financial difficulties? Why would he ask (demand?) her to return $700 worth of lingerie?

Her husband is one of these upcoming celebrities. I don’t know his name off hand. (He is young)

I don’t think their show was trying to say they were having financial difficulties but was rather showing how nieve she is.

In the same show Jessica was eating Chicken Of The Sea Tuna and thought because it said CHICKEN OF THE SEA that it was NOT really “tuna” so she switched brands to Star-Kist"

Their new show is like a reality tv show on being a celebrity and being a newlywed.

They seem to have a lot of troubles on the show.

They don’t have a maid either so Jessica has to clean. She doesn’t like that. <eg> oh poor baby

I’ll go with dork. Although I guess I see where she was trying to go with this, it’s not happening. The spray-on orange tan and platinum hair make her look like some old hag with a “Foxy Grandma” bumpersticker. She’s obviously attractive so I don’t know why she’d do that to herself.

Her husbands one of the members of 98 Degrees… Nick something or other, theyve been around a few years…
How on earth do I know this ???

I wouldn’t call Nick Lachey (sp.?) “up and coming,” he’s more of a “came and went.” Zzing!

Her husband is Nick Lachey, and they have been a couple for a VERY long time.

She didn’t switch brands. She just asked Nick if it was tuna or chicken. She read the can wrong and thought it meant that it was literally chicken. To my knowledge, in no way, shape or form did she switch brands. That never came up at all.

I’m not a fan of hers or anything, but it seems to me that people are being EXTREMELY hard on her for this show… Think about how many times you ask a silly question, and then realize how stupid it was. I mean, her moments are just being captured, edited and broadcasted.

I mean, she did sign on for it, so it’s not like I feel sorry for her about it. I just think people tend to blow her “naivety” out of proportion.

I think Jessica is talented and I agree the show is not done in the perfect light. Being a newlywed is tough enough without being on reality tv.

I thought the suit looked pretty good, in comparison to some of the ridiculous things that people were wearing at the VMAs. I was shocked that the normally conservative minister’s daughter Simpson was all cleavaged out, but I see by her new video that she’s apparently seguing into a new style and image, predicated (one can presume) on her being a grown-up, married type woman now. So be it.

The obviously airbrushed tan was a bad idea, but I understand why it was done. I don’t have too much argument about any of the rest of it.
