I was thinking of buying one of these. Is this a work of beauty, or a monstrosity?
I love it, and would carry it around, bang it up, beat it to hell, abuse it and love it until it fell to pieces.
Is niiiiiiiiiiiiice . . .
Not my style, but not hideous or anything.
I have a briefcase very similar to this one - a gift from my in-laws. it is very nice, and I used it for a while, but stopped after about 6 months.
Because its HEAVY. Incredibly heavy. Arm-numbingly heavy.
If you are OK with that, then get it - its very nice.
I found it, it’s just under 5 pounds – I’m going to have to see if that is too heavy or not.
I would carry my baklava and Turkish delight in it.
It’s an ewwies from me. Just not my style.
Not sure if you’re male or female but it seems very masculine to me.
Oooooh, shiny!
Want!
(And my job doesn’t even require a briefcase!)
To me, it looks like something you’d put on a horse. And it would still be ugly.
(Your taste may differ.)
My first impression was that it was really pretty. I’d use that thing and love it.
My first thought was that now there is finally, readily available, a case suitable for DMs to carry not only their dragon-dice and pads of paper, but all of their D&D books in…
I think Indiana Jones would use it for his teaching job.
I like this case from Saddleback Leather. Classically styled but less ornate and built like a brick shipyard. They claim your grandkids will fight over it and based on the backpack I bought from them, I’ll bet they’re right.
It’s oogly.
It’s a little to busy for my tastes but I wouldn’t mock you if I saw you carrying it.
Five pounds is heavy. Put a five pound weight in a shoulder bag and carry it around for a day before you commit.
As for styling, it’s not really my taste, but it isn’t heinous or anything. I love the ($600!) bag Alpha Twit posted.
I have this. It is awesome, and easily one of the coolest things I own. I call it my “Indiana Jones bag” because it reminds me of him. Completely sturdy but very heavy, and very expensive. But they say it will outlast you, so there’s that…
ETA: It looks like their prices have gone up since I purchased mine. I actually bought it from his site on ebay so it was around $200 cheaper than the advertised price, I have the dark coffee brown extra large briefcase.
If you are a woman of average physical strength 5 lbs is going to be a chunk to lug around all day on the end of a handle + your goods. If you are a biceppy, hardbodied womyn it’ll just be a good workout and a formidable weapon using that built in room clearing swing strap attached.
I don’t think it’s ugly. But even if I did, ugly is better than boring. Who wants a briefcase that looks just like the one every other office drone carries? Whatever else you can say about this thing, it’s distinctive.
