At [http://www.washingtonpost.com/todays_paper/A%20Section/2011-11-30/A/1/32.1.3022086303_epaper.html](canisters designed to safeguard warheads) about 80% down the page is a mention of "canisters designed to safeguard warheads ". I cannot find and images or descriptions because keywords are too commonplace. Can you suggest a place to find an image or description?
Here’s one that I found by googling “warhead shipping container”:
I can’t load the Washington Post link. I don’t know if it is just me or not.
The OP made a defective link. Here’s a corrected one: http://www.washingtonpost.com/todays_paper/A%20Section/2011-11-30/A/1/32.1.3022086303_epaper.html
From your link:
Heh!
I am guessing that such items don’t get photographed and uploaded to the internet very often. Security through obscurity is practiced.
Depending on what one is trying to “safeguard” the weapon against, I assume that such canisters try to provide one (or both) of two things: 1. Features that make it difficult to steal and 2. Features that make it difficult to access its internal contents.
It is left as an exercise to the reader to imagine ways that these canisters might accomplish this.
Or, feel free to contact your local Office of Secure Transportation with questions. I am sure they will be helpful.
