This is a poll for those familiar with both meanings of the term. When you saw the title, what is the first thing that came to mind: the porn movie starring Linda Lovelace or the Watergate informer?
The actual process of deep-throating. Not the movie, not the scandal.

More often than not, I think about the Linda Lovelace movie. And this is from someone who met William Mark Felt as a child. He was a co-worker of my fathers.
This pretty much sums it up for me.

That’s the first thing I think of, also.
How many fathers do you have? 
I didn’t think of the movie or the watergate guy, I just thought of oral sex. Mmmm, oral sex.
The informant in an instance, then the very next the movie.
Capitalized, I think of the informant. Lower-cased, I think of vigorous fellatio.

I couldn’t vote, because honestly, I think of all (3) of the possibilities when that particular phrase comes up. If someone were to mention it out of context (such as this poll), I’d ask for clarification.

From now on, when I hear the word “Ditto” (capitalized, of course) - I’ll be thinking of deep throat - the act, not the informant nor the scandal… unless of course its the informant doing the act and it leads to scandal.
Ahh… that makes the word uttered by Patrick Swayze in ‘Ghost’ that much more interesting.
I doubt many people think of the movie very much. That movie came out decades ago, although many have heard of it, I’d wage not too many have seen it recently. The Watergate chap has a limited following as well these days. Oral sex, however, is as popular as ever.

Me too, but then the movie (really just Linda Lovelace and the book she wrote called Ordeal I never actually saw the movie) and then the scandal, but only after I think about it for a second. So I voted “movie” because it is as close to my first thought as the poll got.
Exactly. Watergate comes to mind second, then porn third.
