Worked in NYC when Linda Lovelace in Deep Throat was on a movie marquee on 42nd Street when 42nd Street was a lot seedier than it is now.
The other movie in the double-feature was Balls in Action.
It’s got to be 40 years or so since I saw it (the marquee–I never saw either movie) and never forgot it. Crazy the stuff that sticks in your mind.
Oh yeah, the scandal was much later so I think of it second.
I automatically thought of the informant. Watergate was one of the more shameful chapters in U.S. history; Deep Throat was just a movie about blowjobs.
Both things immediately come to mind, neither more than the other.
