I don’t think I’ve encountered the term before and I don’t know what it means.
But I’m active in a current thread and a moderator posted a notice that the thread has been “de-trocked”. And it appears it may have been one of my posts that prompted this.
Right now, I’m just following my usual practice of not posting any further in any thread where I received a warning. But I don’t even understand what the issue was here. If I did something wrong, I’d like to know what it was so I can avoid doing it in the future.
I’ve not seen that term before, but take it as meaning that a “trock” (a troll who has previously been banned from the SDMB, and who has returned under a different “sock” account; “trock” is an SDMB neologism of “troll+sock”) was posting in the thread (and probably stirring up shit). When the mods ban a newly-arrived troll or trock, they usually remove all of that account’s posts from the board; in this case, they “de-trocked” the thread by removing the trock’s posts.
I wouldn’t necessarily take it as meaning that your post was against the rules, or problematic; it sounds like it may simply have been what the trock glommed onto.
@Little_Nemo should be excused from the confusion in part because the last post of the prior thread (their post) does have a note on it from me specifying that it was the last post from the prior thread, which was more housekeeping from me.
It didn’t instruct Little_Nemo in any way, but I can understand and apologize for any hesitation it might have prompted.
