What does this symbol mean?

I was looking for people of Facebook when I ran into somebody that had this as his profile pic. It is a really interesting take on the hammer and sickle I think. I certainly think that the CCCFC must be Russian, since the old Soviet Union was CCCP in Russian.

Has anyone seen this? Does anyone have better google skills than I?

No, it’s not Russian, because F is not a letter in the Cyrillic alphabet.

A little Googling found this:

It seems to be Chelsea Football Club. That’s a British Soccer team. I don’t know what the two extra Cs means.

Oh, wait, I see. It’s like CCCP, but change the P to FC.

It’s because Chelsea fans have a terrace chant called “Celery”. The club’s also banned celery from being brought into the ground after it kept getting thrown on the pitch, and the club is owned by a Russian oligarch, hence the hammer and sickle style logo.

A little more googling led to this site: http://www.onionbag.com/cccfc-t-shirt-4980.aspx

I should have just googled what it looked like. I immediately thought celery, but tossed it out as ridiculous.

Well, such a search does turn up a lot of discussion about sickle cell anemia.

I was wondering where all the Detroit Red Wings’ fans went after they could no throw octopii onto ice rinks.
