What does "Trees the right height mean"?

Breaking News: Michael Moore agrees with Mitt Romney. I wonder how that would play with the conservative crowd!

Hitler eats sugar?

Me too! I almost replied to this thread twice, but thought, “Nah, I’m probably the only one…”

That whole clip is just some really bumbling pandering. It’s like he desperately trying to find the right pander. Trees? Lakes? Wait, no not the great ones, the little ones? Is it cars? It’s cars, right?

But not the little ones.

Are you OK?

Trees are *always *the right height…don’t you know? God makes them that way.

The right height to reach the ground.

To me it means, “We’re white, rich, religious and the poor will pay our taxes.”

Maybe it’s an inside joke for the tweakers in the audience because it sure looks like he can relate.

Maybe he was trying out a new pick-up line. Hey baby…do those roots go ALL THE WAY up??

It’s not always things that you’re consciously aware of, though. Years after I moved to the east coast I was travelling out west and was struck by the huge, stacked interchanges where one freeway meets another. They don’t really have many of those in the east; not on the same scale at least. The land here was pretty heavily populated already, and they had to squeeze things in where they could. In the west it seemed like they built with the expectation of people coming, and land was cheap so they could do what they wanted.

I could turn 360 degrees in my chair right now and tell you a dozen things that are different here from where I grew up, and that most people wouldn’t give a thought to. Romney’s comment about trees was kind of an awkward way to phrase it, but if that’s the thing that he noticed, it’s okay with me.
