I get through a lot of beef and onions. And diet cola. But who pays twenty bits for a pound of apples?
Doggie Ice Cream. They eat more than I eat people ice cream. They are rescued dogs. They deserve a good life, they went through… things I don’t really know.
Yeah, we are also a very cheesy family. ![]()
adding: lots of breakast cerials here…
hate that expensive, “artificial everything” crap like frooty loops …
We eat a lot of breakfast cereal, too. But i doubt “a box a week per person” is a lot more than typical, even though I’m sure most household eat less.
Rice. Rice is kinda our staple, and i think we eat more rice than most white people.
My late father used to tell the story of his uncle and aunt, who had 12 kids. When they ate cereal, they would eat a box of corn flakes for breakfast.
When did they find the time???
obviously - before and after breakfast, but never during …
Me, too, though not as much as you.
Between all of my computers and Mrs. Geek’s obsession with leaving every light in the house on, we end up significantly over the average for electricity usage. Every quarter or so we get a notice from the electric company that shows a nice little bar graph, with thrifty users over on the left, average users in our area somewhere in the middle, and our usage WAY over on the right side of the graph.
Electricity here too. We do have two rooms heated with electric heat. And I work from home now, but I don’t think my workstation takes up much.
We get the same bar graph from excel showing how much we use compared to neighbors. Well, we live here full time, our neighbors just have vacation homes. Makes a big difference.
I thought that unless you’re still using incandescent bulbs, the amount of electricity used on lights is minor compared to things like appliances and computers.
When I moved in with my gf, she suggested we compare the electric bill from before and after I moved in to determine who would pay what. Well, she always left lights on, while I’m the exact opposite.
My addition to the household had zero impact on the electric bill!
Clearly every household and relation ship is different. We don’t discus what costs what, as long as the other person is happy. That’s job one.
If adding you to the household had zero impact on the electric bill, hitting those lights seems to really have had an impact.
Diet Coke and cigarettes.
Apparently DirecTV service. I was just reviewing my bill and realized we have 8 DirecTV boxes in our home. I only count 7, so I guess I’m due for a long time on hold to try to get it straightened out.
