And here it is:
Well, I won mine in the SDMB poster contest hosted by OpalCat.
I think, in a way, some folks got others to vote for me because they thought it would hurt my feelings but I actually loved it. If you really voted for me because you honestly believe it, I STILL love it! And I have no problem posting it until someone wins my title. I love sex and have no problem discussing it in any way shape or form!
I came up with my sig during the last school year. I just thought that it would be cool to see a public service announcement that ended with someone saying,
“So I remind all the parents out there to…”
I came up with mine in college, for an official school video closing. As far as I know, the Electrical Engineering Dept is still using the same video, with the same sig line at the end . . .
Tripler
My sig has my nickname in it, Welfy, which was given to me by Maitland (is she still around? I miss her!) on the old AOL SDMB. My screenname was WillowElf7 and one day she read it and wrote that she thought that it said WilloWelf7, so the name stuck. Even people at school call me Welfy now.
The second line is a quote from Edvard Munch, my favorite artist. An artist myself, also suffering from bouts of depression, I feel like I can relate to him well, especially as of late since I’ve felt very alienated from the world.
Usually my sig is ever-changing also, but I like my current one :^)
Just changed my sig. I thought I’d try it out… how does it look?
Mine is… well… fairly self-explanitory.
"What does your sig mean to you?"
More than words can express.
My sig hopefully will remind people that I’m kidding much of the time, and that I don’t take myself seriously all the time so neither should you.
The second part is just to show off my mood jacket, yet another example of how I don’t take myself seriously, or else I wouldn’t have worn that in public.
As of the time of this post, This sig is from Calvin and Hobbes. Oh, how much I miss that strip. I ran into an old friend that I haven’t seen since elementary school. We both used to collect the books.
But sig may change without notice.
I just changed the sig. For those whom remember, last month I got fed up with the constant fire disruptions that Metro suffered. I started this thread called The Washington DC Subway Fire of the Day. Now, last Friday, we recieve reports that when they built the system, some of the tunnels weren’t waterproofed. So, today we begin our new series: The Washington DC Subway Flood of the Day.
My participation on this message board is, quite obviously, a function of how much I enjoy it. My enjoyment is equally obviously a function of the quality of people on it as well as my interactions with same.
My sig is meant to recognize a handful of individuals who deserve particular commendation for putting up with me…err, interacting with me both on the message board and in direct e-mail correspondence. I greatly appreciate the opportunity to get to know such incredibly fine individuals.
It’s some that has just stuck in my mind since a friend told me of his travels during the Vietnam war. He was a medic on his first leave in Thailand. He was in a market and bought a bowl of stew from a street vendor. He wanted another, but the old lady was busy plucking a chicken for someone and told him to get his own. He started to dip off the top and she told him…
Well, I really love Ani DiFranco’s music, and this strikes me as a not too bad philosophy on life. And it’s a cool quote. Probably will be replaced soon, so, by hand:
When I look around
I think this, this is good enough
And I try to live with whatever life brings
Cuz when I look down I just miss all the good stuff
And when I look up, I just trip overthings. ~~Ani, As Is
It means that when I’m at the bottom of a thread and scrolling up in a hurry, I can spot the end of one of my interminably long posts in a hurry.
It means, um, it means a few things:
- Commercials with Captain Sisko of ST:DSN are just cool
- We are living in the future now, why don’t we have flying cars?
- I just realized there’s a typo in it…damn.
