What Doo-Dads Are on Your Keyring?

I’ve got a half-dozen keys, the key fob for my truck, a BevKey (except mine is matte black with no logos or anything), and a Bulbasaur keyring, which is where I got the actual ring that holds all my keys. All the paint is chipped off now, but I’ve had it for years.
The Bulbasaur thing is a little childish, sure (I unashamedly enjoy the Pokemon DS and Game Boy games, FTR), but when you add it to the BevKey, my keys are very distinctive when there’s a whole mess of them at the end of the field after a morning of Ultimate.

I’ve got all y’all beat, I think.

Keyrings: 4. One from a B&B I’ve never been to, one attached to a key from my university that I never bothered to return, one I got on clearance that has the sprog’s name on it, and one from the dealership where I got my car.

Rewards cards: 8, plus 2 library cards, one mine, the other the sprog’s.

Miscellaneous tchochkies: 2, a bottle opener and a mini-maglite flashlight. And, of course, keys.

I didn’t know a heavy key ring could damage my ignition, though my car is 12 years old and has always started up. I had to pare my keyring down, though, so it has half a dozen keys and an open-the-door-thingy on a plastic cord lanyard I made myself (so I could always spot it in my purse). The other stuff I took off, I put on my old keyring, which is also in my purse - teeny flashlight, measuring tape, whistle, five keys that fit I don’t know what locks, a leather picture frame tag with pictures of my daughter and cat.

Just keys and a few slim card thingies, library, grocery and hardware store ones.

I can’t manage to separate work keys and personal without losing a set somehow, so they’re all coexisting together. Since my minimum for work is around 20 keys, no room for doo-dads and still having them fit comfortably in a pocket.

I thought some of the folks reading this thread might be interested to know that there is a whole forum, called

http://edcforums.com/ dedicated to this and similar questions. EDC stands for “every day carry” and the folks on this forum have an astonishing amount of expertise on flashlights, knives, multitools and such topics as the best way to prepare a car first aid kit. Many of the members seem to come from military, police or emergency services type backgrounds and they REALLY know their stuff. I have gotten some really good tips there regarding pocket knives and led flashlights.

The Internet is amazing. And for the record, I am saying that without sarcasm or irony. I think it is amazing how people are using the Internet to exchange information about almost anything you can imagine. (but perhaps that’s a topic for another thread.)

Key to my girlfriend’s car, even though I don’t drive
Key to a long-gone Mac Quadra computer
Handcuff key
Bottle opener
Small purple Sharpie
Keys to my pinball machines
Padlock key
Miniature turk’s-head (I’ve had a turk’s head bracelet on my arm since 1977)
Dog-leash-type clip
and the normal keys and loyalty cards.

A brass arrow that fits into the brass heart on Mrs. kidneyfailure’s keychain.

The metal part of an Emergency Air Breathing connection dust cover that I stole from S5G in 1989.

Submariners should know what that is.

I keep one of those in my wallet and have several more in suitcases and different places. Love the darn things and would not be without one ever!

I would have said the same thing before I had to start using various hospital valet parking systems. I have a habit of losing the “claim ticket” and saying “its the ring with the rubber chicken on it” usually gets my car back to me hassle free. And the chicken got lonely and thirsty so I added my wife and the beer bottle.

Two house keys and a PO Box key.
A camping whistle with a compass, thermometer, mirror, magnifying glass, and LED flashlight in it.

I used to have like 13 membership cards on it. Then I got my iPhone and downloaded this cool app that stores all the bar codes right on it.

Used to have a flashlight too - but again - iPhone has an app for that.

(Gosh - do I sound like a commercial or what?)

So now I have:

[li]My house key[/li][li]My bf’s house key[/li][li]My 2 car keys (ignition & trunk)[/li][li]Brass Triangle that says “Faith Alone. Scripture Alone. Grace Alone.” - stepmom mailed it to me from my old church - they handed it out one Easter. It’s mostly a memory of my dad who passed in 2003.[/li][li]Key ring doo dad from a purse I bought. (red leather with a silver scrolly thing on it)[/li][li]AT&T key ring doo dad (which I love because it’s the one I can easily find when digging through my purse - it’s orange and has a distinctive feel to it.)[/li][/ul]

Oh - my car keys are on one ring and the house keys are on the other - but the 2 are connected together. That way, if I need to drop my car off for repairs - it’s just a few turns of the ring.

I have two blue Legos. One is about 3 or 4 years old. The other was the “replacement” but I couldn’t bring myself to get rid of the first one.

I also have a loop of material that matches my puppies’ collars (blue and brown wave pattern with paw prints).
Other than that,

front door key
back door key
car key for my boyfriend’s car
tags for various stores

I have a Saturn key fob. Question: can you still buy a rabbit’s foot? I had one many years ago!

A rape whistle in case someone tries to RAPE me.

A small plastic Wii remote that shines a little blue light when you pull the trigger.

I’m sure you can ralph. eBay is your friend.

I’ve got three key rings attached to a mini-snap link. The first ring holds all my door keys. The second has my car key and remote-locks gadget. The third holds a bottle opener, pill vial, 6-in-1 UtiliKey, the key for the cargo box on my motorcycle, and a padlock key that dose to an unused padlock. Pretty boring.

I usually keep a tip tap on it, but I haven’t played pool in years. Recently, I added the Craftsman four sided screwdriver, and it’s been immensely useful. However, that thing cuts up pockets faster than any keys I’ve ever had.

Bottle/Can opener. Nothing more.

keys and nothing but, until super recently when I added this http://www.thinkgeek.com/gadgets/car/8e0c/

I tell my students to get one
