A friend’s recent side-by-side comparison of Condoleeza Rice and the Brain made me think of other famous folks who resemble cartoon characters. When I was a kid I always thought that ubquitous octogenarian Burt Mustin bore a frightening resemblance to Looney Tunes’ Bashful Buzzard , and that Alabama’s Senator Howell Heflin had a physical resemblance and was vocally identical to Foghorn Leghorn .
Who are some other tooniversal doppelgangers for real people?
Well, (former?) Texas politician Phil Gramm bears a striking resemblance to Kermit the Frog.
Patrick Warburton looks like the Tick. Also, he played the live action Tick, so I guess that’s appropriate.
George W. Bush looks like the ferret/weasel from the Budweiser commercials. It’s a rather creepy similarity.
I’ve always thought Maria Shriver is a ringer for Cruella De Ville .

Former First Lady Barbara Bush is a dead ringer for Rosie the Robot .
I always thought that AmericanMaid was a dead ringer for American Maid, but perhaps that’s not a coincidence…
Bob Dole bears a striking resemblance to Grumpy in Snow White and the Seven Dwarves .
Clay Aiken and Vash the Stampede .
<on Preview:> Oops, lemme fix that. . . hmmm, never mind, let it go.
Dan Lauria (dad from The Wonder Years ) and Fred Flintstone
I don’t know what character he’s comparable to, but I always thought Iron Chef Hiroyuki Sakai looks just like a cartoon. He’s so cool.
I have a rogue’s gallery of the 7 Dwarfs hanging in my office, so I just had to look past the computer to see that, omigod, you’re right!
That’s eerie.
I think Minnesota Timberwolves guard Sam Cassell looks a bit like the Alien. Especially if you focus on his weird head. And sticking with the NBA theme, Golden State Warriors reserve forward/freak of nature Popeye Jones is a dark-skinned twin for BatBoy .
Unfortunately, there’s no picture of him online, but my grandfather is the spitting image of Abe Simpson. You’ll just have to take my word for it.
Do Rankin/Bass “Animagic” characters count? Because John Kerry looks exactly like Snow Miser from “The Year Without a Santa Claus.”
That Justin guy from the first American Idol season looks like Sideshow Bob from the Simpsons.
Phooey. It won’t link to the single picture, but here’s the page:

I gotta go with the obvious: David Letterman and Alfred E. Neuman.
In response to Miss Mapp ’s statement that Bob Dole resembles Grumpy. twickster replied:

Hmmm, I think Grumpy resembles the Ayatollah Khomeini more than he does the former Senator .
Wayne Knight as Officer Don Orville on Third Rock IS Chief Wiggum of the Simpsons
