It would be interesting for Pixar to do a re-make of another film. I said in another thread once that they should think of doing Fantastic Voyage.
What other films should get the Pixar treatment?

Felix The Cat
And Americanized version of “Ghost In the Shell” would be interesting.
Or maybe and animated version of “Gone With the Wind.”
Empire.
They could use the stock model from 3D Studio R1.
Remake? Pixar don’t do remakes. They only do original stuff, thank goodness. It’s part of what makes them so great!
Men Behind the Sun
Raise the Titanic
Treasure Planet
Underworld
Green Mansions
My Dinner with Andre?
Agreed. Can’t we pass some kind of a referendum that would prevent studios from re-making movies ever? Would that be too much to ask?
I think that part of Pixar’s appeal is that they don’t rehash old movie ideas, but that’s just me.
No, no… remakes aren’t awful. Sequels to animated movies - those are almost universally bad, aren’t they? Cinderella II, Hunchback II, Lion King II and III, Land Before Time 2-8…
Pixar seems to break that rule as well, dantheman- Toy Story 2 is considered one of their best movies.
“I Am Curious Jell-O.”
You’re right, Tarrsk - let’s say that was an exception to the rule. Hence the weaselly “almost” qualification that I tossed in there.
(It might be helpful to differentiate between a “remake” and a “retelling” or “reworking,” if such a difference exists.)
If their must be a Pixar ‘remake’, (remember they are not averse to using preexisting properties, witness Mr. Potatohead), I would really like to see a feature-length computer animated movie with Gertie the Dinosaur, the FIRST animated character, either that or Funny Faces.
