What fool came up with this stupid, lame idea?!

Whew. Every time I see a thread title that reads something like, “What fool came up with this stupid, lame idea?!” I immediately start thinking, “Please, don’t let it be me this time…”

You’re perfectly correct.

I just happen to think that the “purpose” itself is a bit daft, that’s all.

It’s not the biggest deal in the world or anything, I am just miffed. I don’t want the ring because I’m so unbelievably impressed with myself or even with where I go to school. I’m not even the biggest fan of my university. They make a lot of stupid rules, and this is one of them.

I just wanted the ring because in three years I went from not planning to go to college at all to graduating from college early. To me, it’s been an uphill battle and this means something.

And as far as I can tell, this is not a situation of “We can’t handle all of your orders, so we’re making one ring and that’s it” on the part of Jostens. This seems to be a big “one tradition” movement on the part of the alumni association. So I, and several of my friends, will be writing them a letter.

I spoke to ArtCarved, and they said that because they’re not licensed, they can’t make one for my school. But a Jostens rep will be here next week, so I’ll have to see what I can do.

Or from a slightly more practical point-of-view, do you know how many student loan payments you can make for the cost of a ring?

Yea, but you go to The Hop, so it’s natural that you don’t want anyone to know.
