What Freebies Do You Get At Work (Poll)? (Sodas/Coffee/Samples etc.)

Publishing company.

Free books, but usually not the kind I want to read. We get leftover computer tech books, or “For Dummies” books, nothing too exciting.

Coffee, hot chocolate, internet access, work out room.

When working at a high end grocery store, we’d occasionally get a free cake/submarine sandwitch that someone ordered but never collected. I guess because they want their stuff to be super-fresh, if someone orders something but isn’t there on time, they toss it to the employees without even trying to sell it to somebody else (illegal, perhaps?) It was a nice perk to an otherwise extremely boring (grocery bagger) job.

electricity…

and they can fire us if we abuse the phone or the internet

so please don’t tell…

Next to nothing of value.

Coffee isn’t free. Soda isn’t free. Food is rarely given. Until recently, my department was the only one with a water cooler, we chipped in for it. They recently added them to other departments so ours is free now, too.

The only things I can have free are our products, usually with some random company’s imprint.

I work at a medical center. Our department has free coffee in the break room, plus we tend to get a lot of pens and stuff from pharmaceutical companies. I got a free series of Hepatitis B vaccinations when I started, since I work with patients. For Christmas we got a free meal in the cafeteria (which is actually pretty good) and food at the department’s party too.

We get nice discounts on other products and services, like $5 movie passes for two large local theater chains (when films are $9 at night, that’s a good deal), discounted Bulls tickets (not such a big deal now :p), and so on.

Jack.

Didn’t feel cheated, either, until I read this thread…
:frowning:

Coffee is provided free. So is water. Of the two, I only drink water.

Big computer company…

I get free juice, coffee, donuts, cookies, and lunch, on days I give blood.

On days I don’t give blood, um… I’ll be going now.

Oh, we get things like flu shots for free, of course. And coffee. And we have an on-site fitness center. I think it’s $5-10/mo deducted from your paycheck to join and they have all sorts of equipment, cardio & aerobics classes throughout the day, yoga and karate (the instructors for those charge for their classes, though). Movie passes at $4.50/each. 41% off the cover price for almost any book you can name (Our sister company is the nation’s largest book distributor). And liberal internet access, of course.

StG

We have to pay $5 a month for coffee. No free sodas, no free nuthin’! Well, the occasional lunch meeting we will get free lunch.
And people bring in goodies, like donuts and kolaches.

We have to pay a fee for our company picnic, and our Christmas party! Occasionally they will cater lunch for the entire company, as a reward for a good safety record.

I’m a Tennessee state Government Employee.
We get all the abuse we can handle. :frowning:

And holidays & weekends off.

Coffee.

The occasional doughnut/bagel/cake when someone is feeling generous (mmmm… German chocolate today).

Ah, the joys of working for a small company without “.com” in its name…

I get free meals and beer or whatever drink I want.

My husband works for a huge software company. He gets all kind of stuff - free pop, lunch is catered every day, free pinball and video games, movie passes, clothes, the ability to wear shorts and a ballcap to work, free beer on Fridays, flex hours, and a gihugic headache every day.

I get water for free.

The air is free, too, but they found radon. I guess that cancels out the free water, huh.

I work at a restaurant. My job consists of sitting behind the counter, taking to-go orders and phone orders, taking the tickets to the kitchen, and returning to the counter with the completed order. That’s it.

[Peter from Office Space] In a given week, I think I do about 15 minutes of actual work. [/Peter]

That describes my job.
Anyway, in regards to the OP. We’re SUPPOSED to only get 2 soft drink refills each day. What everyone actually does, is get as many free refills as they want, and eat all the food they want. I also help myself to the candy and gum by the register (as do many customers!). Maybe this is the reason the restaurant is going to shit and the landlord shut off the heating because the manager can’t pay.

At campus one: parking permit.

Campus two: parking permit, occasional desserts and coffee in dept. workroom, fridge with all sorts of things, sandwiches and Snapple when the textbook representatives come to hawk their wares; paid orientation including breakfast and lunch; Christmas “Tea” (buffet with three tables full of stuff).

Campus one really blows.

Then both of mine blow, too: neither one gives us free parking!

I work for a midwest home improvement store, Menards. We get some of the most worthless gifts sometimes. Merry Christmas…cheese and sausage…Happy New Year…cheap leather key chain…Happy Halloween…2 decks of Menards cards…Happy Valentines day…clock in the shape of a saw blade…and numerous other holidays and such where we get Menards hot-wheel type race cars. Every now and then we get free gas and for the holidays we get Menards gift certificates.

Free Coffee.

Bagels on Wednesdays for the day shift, and pizza for the night shift.

Free unlimited 56 K dial up plan.

Free international unlimited roaming plan.

We used to get beer fridays too, but there was a budget cut.

Free movie screenings, typically on Saturday mornings of a new release at a local theater before it opens to the general public. Plus, company and department Christmas gifts.
