My favorites:
Jumpman
Jumpman Jr (though not as much)
Ultima II, III, and IV
Choplifter
And some game with a maze and spiders in it.

There was a civil war game that ROCKED, but i didn’t own a c64 so I had to play it at a friend’s house.
Maniac Mansion
Zach McKraken and the Alien Mindbenders
(both were LucasArts games, if I recall correctly. What was cool about Zach was that in Maniac Mansion, there was a gas powered chainsaw you could use as a weapon, however, it was out of gas and we could never find a gas can to use. When we played Zach McK, which came out after MM, there was a part where you go to Mars because of the face on mars, and there is a locker in one of the rooms. You open the locker and there is a gas can in it. The character you’re playing at the time looks at the gas can and says something like “I cannot use this, this is for another game.” and smiles at the camera.)
Oil’s Well
Fireworks Construction Kit
Space Station Construction Kit (or something like that)
The Farmer’s Daughter
Oh I almost forgot: ZORK
Rad Warrrior- find the ancient armor and defeat the alien robots
Deceptor- use your shapechanging powers to make it through the mazes
Bruce Lee- Avoid the ninja and sumo and collect magic lanterns
Darklord-Through the mirror to another world and a magic quest
Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy- bring a towel
The Movie Monster Game- you are the monster, destroy the city
Archon- the armies of dark and light meet on a gameboard
Forbidden Forest- Trapped in the forest, shoot stuff.
ooh ooh ooh I played Bruce Lee, too! Man that brings back memories.
Horrible, horrible memories. I seem to recall I sucked at it ;D
Frogger. Lotsa Frogger. And Space Invaders.
Oh Man! “Space Taxi” all the way!
Also, “Master of the Lamps”
What was that Ninja game? My friend had a C64 and that’s all he played, though rarely…and even then, I think it was more out of distain of it.
I think he just enjoyed making a mockery of the C64
Pool of Raaaaaadiannnnnce! (and all the gold-box SSI series) - God I wasted soooo much of my life when I was 13 playing these games.
Fargoal
Karate Championship (or something like that)
Ghosts & Goblins
California Games
Defender of the Crown
Aye, I think that’s the game I couldn’t recall in my post just before your’s. Good times.
It was World Karate Championship
Good times indeed.
Green Beret
Spy Hunter
Rampage
Ghostbusters
Some ninja game where a guy with nunchucks hits your shin repeatedly, then during the next stage a fat sumo wrestler that flies at you and you have to duck, and during one of the final stages on level one you square off against a mirror image of yourself.

I had very few retail games due to lack of funds, but I had a subscription to Compute! magazine. Every issue had a number of game programs you could type in - mostly short, arcade style games, but there were a few longer adventure games too. Later, the magazine started shipping with a floppy disk and you didn’t have to type anything anymore.
For Christmas, when I was 14 I think, I requested and got the Arcade Game Construction Kit. You could use it to make Zelda and Super Mario type games, but the results tended to run pretty slowly. I remember thinking it was almost cool but ultimately frustrating, but it did lead me down the path to where I am now, a professional game designer. (Well, technically, not for a few weeks, but I am doing some UI programming in the meantime.)
My favorite was Wasteland, but all six of the Ultimas that came out for the C64, the three Bard’s Tale games, Pool of Radiance (I played the rest of the Gold Box series on the PC), and Legacy of the Ancients jump to mind immediately.
Elite - for hours and hours and hours…
I loved the Llamasoft games - Attack of the Mutant Camels, Revenge of the Mutant Camels, Hovver Bovver et al - Jeff Mintner was/is a mentalist of the first order
The Attack Of The Mutant Camels- heavens I wasted time on that.
My favourite was the rotating platform game Nebulus (a.k.a. Tower Toppler)
