What??? Haliburton won the bid to rebuild Iraq in 2001???

Jesus Brutus, read much?

The contract that was bid on was to develop a plan. The implementation of that plan appears to have been awarded on a no-bid basis. Which do you think was worth more?

Both quixotic78 and I have pointed this out. Why do you keep ignoring it?

quixotic:

Oh, I am most sorry. My most sincerestest Appy Polly Loggies. It’s just that it so difficult to keep all the lies, innuendo, doublespeak, and frivolous accusations constantly being tossed about straight in my head.

I mistakenly forgot to seperate the egregious half-witted bitching about the the bidded contract, from the egregious half-witted bitching about the no-bid contract and over time they have just blended together into one egregious half-witted partisan bitchfest.

Together with options and financial debacles one two and three I’m having trouble seperating the lies.

But from now on I promise to do my best to remember the idiotic options accusations are seperate from the no-bid stupid bullshit which is seperate from the bid contract stupid bullshit. Can’t have us sweeping all the piles of bullshit together into one, can we?

Scylla,

I don’t (that I know of) have any kind of partisan reputation here. Actually, I don’t have a partisan reputation anywhere that I’m aware of. I don’t think Bush “stole the election”, I don’t think he’s the second coming of Christ. I don’t think Clinton is a particularly admirable person, I don’t think he was a complete fuck-up as President. You know, middle of the road, both sides have their up days and their down days.

With all of that said, can you honestly sit there and say that there’s nothing wrong with Halliburton receiving a multi-billion dollar contract in a no-bid situation? Can you honestly say that there’s not even the appearance of impropriety, especially given a certain Administration official’s past connections with Halliburton? Can you not agree that it would have been best for an Administration who’s stated goal is to bring dignity back to the White House to go the extra mile to avoid that appearance of impropriety?

FYI, these are serious questions asked in an attempt to understand your position.
