What Halloween Candy are you stocking?

I got Skittles, Tootsie Pops, and Tootsie Rolls. I can’t buy any really spectacular candy because I will eat it. All. I already ate two Tootsie Rolls, but they’re not too bad. The Skittles are safe, I don’t like them. If I had Reese’s cups/sticks or Rolos, they’d be following me around the house. Actually I don’t even know if I’ll be home - there’s a sort of Fabulous Halloween Street Fair that the gay and lesbian center here puts on every year (the costume contest is amazing to behold, believe me!) and I might go to that. Ms. Bluejelly and I used to really go all out for Halloween - major league decorations, tons of candy - we’d even dress up to give it out. Since I’m moving out soon, I don’t know what she wants to do, but it would be awfully depressing to be home by myself! :frowning:

ShibbOleth, if you have extra Rolos left over (as if!), I have an award-winning cookie recipe that calls for them - chocolate cookie with nuts and Rolos baked inside ::groan::. I’ll email it to you if you want it  .

Sounds good. I can put some aside or pick some new ones up. Please share the recipe.

Bah, we never get any trick-or-treaters at my place. But if we did, they’d get full-size milky way bars. After filling out the proper forms. And waiting 6-8 weeks for delivery. I like to imagine the little guys and girls running back to their parents asking for a pen and something to write on.

I’m in Gainesville, Shibb. Somehow I’ve got the idea you’re in Tallahassee.

Check it out! It’s too early to post, I guess…I meant to bold Shibb!

We’re in NW Tampa area. Probably a bit far for Halloween, but let me know if you decide to stop down. My location is a bit of a hint. Nothing Tallahassee there. I’ve never even been to Tally to tell the truth… did my time at Gainesville in Tolbert Hall.

I’m not sure what I bought as I got it a couple of weeks ago. I’m pretty sure I got some Heath bars, and if they don’t go then I’ll eat em! Plus some Halloween Kit Kats, some inside out Reece’s Cups.

The best though, and I admit I’ve already eatten most of a bag, is Monster parts. There are ears, fingers, toes, lips/teeth, and eyes. They are wrapped to look like the parts and then candy is shapped like it too. Most of the wrappers are kinda gross looking even for me, the ears have hair on them, some of the fingers and toes have blood on them. All in all they are great!

Popsicles.

Now there’s a thought… Halloween Stockings.

We split half and half Nestle and Mars assortments. Big bags of tiny Butterfingers, Baby Ruths, Nestle Crunches, M&M’s, etc. I wanted to give away little boxes of Junior Mints, but the Superwife correctly suggested that if we stocked Junior Mints, I’d eat them all before the kids got here. Monster Parts seem cool.

We have mini-Twix, Heath bars, and Reese’s cups to give out (and a few for ourselves)

We’re getting four (or so Mr2U thinks - I’m picking up an extra two) of the Hershey big assortment bags w/50 pieces in each bag - Resse’s, Hershey Bars, Kit Kats, and Almond Joys. The Almond Joys will be given away first as none of us like them. Yes, I am mean, why do you ask?

We went cheap this year. We’re not sure about the turnout, since it’s a new neighborhood for use. We bought the Willy Wonka mix from Sam’s Club - 205 pieces - Laffy Taffy, Nerds, Runts, SweetTarts, BottleCaps, and GumBalls. Most of the Laffy Taffy is already gone!

We just moved back into this neighborhood, and I’m thinking of inflicting the hated candies / cookies of my youth on the children. Bits o’ Honey, Mary Janes, those little wax bottles with that weird liquid in them… All sorts of the stuff that you take, and say thank you for, and then ditch when you get home. Maybe pfeffernüße too, because I’ve never met a kid who liked black pepper flavored cookies.

I love Bit’o’Honey, but hate Mary Janes, even though they are very similar. So if you have some left over Bit’o’honeys, let me know. My kids would probably like those little wax bottles if you can find them.

In case you’re jonesing for them some other time of the year, you can get pretty much anything from Old Time Candy. This is the Bits o Honey page. You can get a bag of 135 of the individuals for ~$7, and you can also get a grab bag of whatever you want, if you don’t want that many. Including the nasty little wax bottles.

My crazy mother likes all of these things, though, so she will probably pop two in her mouth for every one she gives out. She’s kinda a sugar-fiend.

Or you could send them to me.

I bought a mixed bag of Milk Duds, Whoppers, and Kit Kat bars.
This will be our first Halloween in this neighborhood, and I’m not sure how many ToT-ers we’re going to have, so I also bought bags of Almond Joy, Nestle Crunch, Smarties, and Bit-O-Honey.
My kid and I have gone through about half the bag of Bit-O-Honey, and my mister was probably going to “sneak” quite a few of the Almond Joy bars before Sunday anyway, so I just kept them for us.

Additional items used to help fill the candy tub that is hiding in the linen closet:
six packs of gum (Bubble Yum and Bubblicious, various flavors),
one fun size Snickers bar
six or seven Dum-Dums suckers
a large handful of Starburst
one ring pop that has a flashing light inside.

If we run out of all that we’ll have to turn off the lights and hide. Or maybe START’s mom will give me some tracts to hand out.

I just moved into this neighborhood in June. I’ve never lived in an area with kids my whole adult life (about 20 years). My porch light hasn’t worked since I moved in and this week I checked to see if it was just a bulb problem. It’s a wiring problem.

I got the munchies tonight and a tad worried when I realized there are really children here. So, I can’t turn on my porch light, but I got candy just in case.

I picked out Milky Ways, I wanted Snickers but saved 3 fat grams by going avoiding them. One big bag of candy at Walgreens for 5 bucks. Hope I get at least some trick or treaters even with no porch light. I really shouldn’t eat that much candy.

Oh, and I must live a stones throw from you ShibbOleth. I live in Pasco county.

2’ foot long Pixy Stixs
Full side Fundip
1 lucky kid gets a 10lb chocolate bar.

The first year we did this, you could hear the kids standing in the street yelling to each other that they had to come to our house.

I talked to my sister in Michigan, she said they were having Halloween tonight.

I havn’t seen a single kid outside, does anyone know if Florida kids are doing Halloween tomorrow night for sure?

I’m down to 13 Milky Ways left. These kids need to hurry up.
