Gavin posted a response video of him piloting a jet dumping poop on the Jan 6 rioters. Now it seems to have disappeared!? I’ve googled every way I know how, and Trump’s video keeps coming up.
Now I’ll be the first to admit my google-fu sucks but sheesh. Can anyone find it or did it disappear?
I’d like to see a clip from that. It should start with the words, “Trump gives No Kings protesters a piece of his mind.” You can guess what comes next.
We should be thankful that this race to the bottom that Newsom has with Trump has disappeared. It serves no purpose other than to lower the standard of discourse.
Am I the only one who sees Newsom as the worst, most debased, corporate-supplicant response to Trumpism that just represents an extension of Feinsteinism?

I have no idea what “Feinsteinism” is meant to be, but I think Newsom is doing a great job both in pushing back against Trump’s rhetoric and in the actual policies he has here in California.
To be clear, I’m not promoting this stuff. I was at work and people were showing it around. I was telling my wife about sad state of affairs that our country has devolved into referencing that video. She wanted to see it so she tried to find it and couldn’t. I tried as well with the same results when just several hours earlier it popped right up.
Googling “gavin newsom jet poop jan 6”, the top 6 or 7 videos are of Trump. I think that’s odd, given Trump’s name isn’t in the search terms.
This thread isn’t about, “oh look at this cool video”, I was just curious as to how it disappeared so quickly and by what means. Surely, you would think it would have been tweeted and shared enough times as to be findable.
I do not see Newsom that way. Sure there might be other candidates that are better, but where are they? By that I mean, Where are they as an online presence? Like it or not, the world has changed. Politics are swayed by social media more than anything. Trump is on social media and TV EVERY. FUCKING. DAY. If Newsom’s antics gets him votes and he can beat Trump - I’ll take him.

This is quite possibly true, and if so, my apologies. I didn’t delve that deeply into it. The headlines I read were something like Newsom fights back. I just made the assumption. But my main question was more of, where did the video go?
You could make the same favorable comparison with a Chia pet versus Trump.
“Feinsteinism” is preferring to benefit her corporate and monied donors over her constituents, acquiring a truly stunning degree of wealth by passing non-public information to her husband, gerentocratically clinging to power long past her ability to comprehend what was occurring in Senate committee meetings and (reportedly) even her internal staff meetings, failing to cultivate a successor at a critical time in American and California politics, telling off a bunch of schoolchildren for asking her about her policy positions on climate change by retorting that she’d just won an election and their opinions didn’t matter to her because they weren’t voters. She’s basically the avatar for everything wrong with the modern Democratic Party as a whole.
Gavin Newsom has done an adequate job as governor of California (which is a pretty low bar) but he’s also kind of a slimy piece of shit who does whatever he can to be ‘relevant’ to a mass audience even if it means casting aside any pretense of having principles. Although it seems to have slipped through the popular consciousness, before Newsom found a new ‘game’ of doing satirical impressions of Donald Trump to get followers and clicks he ‘platformed’ right-wing hate monger Charlie Kirk on the inaugural episode of his podcast. Fuck that guy.

I have read about it but not watched it. I try to avoid as much visual and audio of that menace as possible. The written word and occasional photo are sometimes too much.

However, in the context of watching a newscast or listening to someone commenting on You Tube it’s often unavoidable to catch a glimpse of his nasty self.
I hate it but I have come to accept that it will happen.
I cannot read anything he he says but I will read someone’s synopsis.
But I can only take so much.

It’s not just that Newsom is (or more properly, is imagined to be) “relevant to a mass audience”, but that he will do anything he thinks will get him attention, even if it is contrary to his stated principles. He’s a complete narcissist who never met a camera he didn’t want to make love to, and while you can say that about many politician he takes it to an exceptional level.
Again, that is a a bar so low a snake could step over it. And I think slimy aptly describes someone who gave a sweetheart exception to the minimum wage increase to the company of billionaire donor Greg Flynn, vetoed SB1 in 2019 (intended to help protect the state against Trump 45 efforts to dismantle environmental, public health, and occupational safety standards) and AB1604 in 2025 (barring chatbot providers from making companion chatbots available to California minors unless the chatbot is demonstrated to not be capable of encouraging harmful conduct such as engaging in self-harm, violence or disordered eating), in both cases because of encouragement by industry groups consisting substantially of campaign donors, had an extramarital affair with a subordinate and wife of his deputy chief of staff (at the time married to Fox Newshead and later fiancee of Don Trump, Jr. Kimberly Guilfoyle, ugh), and is a member of a California political and corporate petro dynasty that we would really be better of without at this point. Frankly, I don’t think “slimy” is a sufficiently disparaging adjective but as we’re not in The Pit I’m restraining my language.
It’s pretty risible that so many Democrats think that Newsom is all that popular on the national stage when he’s even trailing Kamala Harris in the polls. I am at a complete loss as to why mainline Democrats are so in love with him except that he represents the comfortable ‘norm’ of the Democratic Party that still hasn’t figured out why it has shed a generation of rural and lower class voters with its pro-corporate policies. Newsom has about as much appeal outside of California as your mom’s new boyfriend who is trying to win you over by trying to trash talk like a teenager and sneaking you some weed.
If I had my choice I’d run someone like Gretchen Whitmer or Tammy Duckworth, but I’m sure that Democrats will come in with the mantra about how a woman candidate doesn’t have a chance winning the presidency after intentionally nominating two of the least appealing and most reviled candidates since Hubert Humphrey.
There is really nothing to be gained by following Trump’s increasingly infantine efforts at trolling or trying to dissect them for meaning and intent. That is what the pundit class is for, to waste their time teasing out the dog whistles so you don’t have to.
