Kamala was just recently in the Seattle area, helping fundraise for Biden’s campaign.
So I mean, she was in the news for me as they warned about a bit of extra traffic during her visit.

Ironic that you posted this on the day after the Washington Post prints “In calling out Trump, Harris finds her mission: No one is better equipped to take down felon Trump than the vice president.” She is finally coming into her own.
“The White House said Harris would attend the meeting in Lucerne on June 15.”
Tomorrow, June 15.
Was that the Jimmy Kimmel interview? That’s the one I saw, and she presented herself exactly as you describe. They need to put her out more so that the public can see and hear her. I would have no issue with her as Commander in Chief, should it ever come to that.
She’s a smart, capable, well-spoken (multi-racial) woman. No wonder the right hates her so much.
She was the one who announced the push to eliminate medical debt from credit reporting, not Biden. I assumed that was not a coincidence.
She has cast 33 tie-breaking votes in the Senate. What more do you expect from her?
I saw her recently in an interview in front of a live audience. She was actually looking and sounding. . .presidential, at least compared to her former smirky, laconic persona of four years ago. It made me wonder if Biden has been grooming her to take over early in his second term. As in he wins, stays in office for a token amount of time, then abdicates.
Protect the space-time continuum while based in a school bus?
MAGAts talk a lot about that.
And here I thought I was a thought leader. Doesn’t seem like a bad idea, though.
It’s a terrible idea. People will be angry if that happens, because they voted for Biden, not Harris. But if something happens to Biden, that’s different. Of course, there will be whispers that she bumped him off, but ![]()
The way I heard it was the latter was never heard from again.
I was scrolling through to see if I was the only one who remembered this. Thanks for saving me the trouble of posting it.
Ed Snowden tweeted something along the lines of the OP recently. Must be talking points from his handlers.
Yeah…This was exactly where my mind went too.
Today she’s in Switzerland, representing the U.S. at a summit conference about Ukraine. There are 92 countries attending, so it’s a fairly big deal.
And shooting people in the face.
But I think that @Hermitian’s point stands; for the most part, Quayle, Gore, Biden, and Pence weren’t in the news for the stuff they did in their capacity as VP; it was almost always extracurricular stuff.
Cheney and HW Bush were somewhat out of their lanes in terms of the activities they engaged in as VP and as a result were more newsworthy.
From my memory: Cheney was visible when he was shooting guys in the face while drinking, and then making them apologize later for getting in the way of his gun.
Pence was visible because he was always following Trump around, gazing at him adoringly.
Biden as has been mentioned was in the news whenever he made a verbal gaffe.
So Harris does not shoot guys in the face, does not follow Biden around gazing adoringly, and does not make verbal gaffes that make the news. In other words, she’s a normal VP
