You don’t see her mentioned in the left or right wing media. It seems like she disappeared for the last two years. Is Biden thinking of replacing her?
Huh. In the news I watch, I see her all the time.
Biden is not going to replace her.
VPs never make the news unless they’re doing a very bad job.
I feel like Pence, Biden, and Cheney (going back to 2001) were all so much more visible.
Bush the Elder was often in the news under Reagan. He was a very active VP. Acting almost like another Secretary of State.
Biden was mentioned, not for a bad job but for gaffs when speaking.
Cheney off course was news worthy but for dripping evil.
I disagree on Pence.
“Once there were two brothers. One ran away to sea; the other was elected Vice President of the United States. And nothing was heard of either of them again.”
-Thomas R. Marshall (Woodrow Wilson’s VP)
I would imagine that Biden should be pushing her more into the limelight. Both he and Trump are half-dead (to be a little hyperbolic). VPs should have more weight than ever. People need to feel like if they elect Biden they are getting a good replacement as well.
That would be an excellent way to promote the idea that he is going to step aside and let her run for President, thus ruining his campaign efforts. No, thank you.
Besides the well-known curse of being VP, I’m not sure Harris was ever really liked. She had little to show for her time in the Senate, her presidential primary campaign was full of oddly specific ideas and the biggest moment for her in the debates was attacking Biden for not supporting an unpopular policy in school busing, and of course she dropped out before any actual voting started.
I certainly feel that way.
Of course you could have made up the name of Wilson’s VP. Almost no one remembers it.
He didn’t have a twitter account.

And this, too:
The amount we’re seeing Kamala–a fair amount if you consume a lot of news, and not much if you don’t consume a lot of news–is normal and unremarkable.
Think back to the beginning of the Biden Presidency: it seemed like he assigned her some big projects she was in charge of (like immigration and voting rights)–but that hasn’t happened recently. In recent years she in the news because of some speeches, not because of her success or failure with big projects.
She used to be a prosecutor and I just saw her the other day, commenting on Trumps conviction and the way the Republicans are showing that they don’t respect the rule of law.
She came off as very confident and sure of herself. She’ll make a fine president if necessary.
I’ve actually noticed seeing/hearing her somewhat more frequently than I would have expected. Seems she is regularly giving speeches and appearing at various memorials, or civil rights events. I’m pretty sure she is the go to person for issues concerning women and people of color - and I expect those will be big issues as the election nears.
The unfortunate thing is that just about every time I hear her, I’m reminded that I want to like her more than I actually do when I see/hear her…
Kamala is currently the 8th most popular of all living politicians according to Yougov and the 3rd most popular of those still with an active role in government.
She broke a lot of Senate ties which made the news when it happened.
I see her sometimes. Not as much as Biden, and nowhere near as much as trumpski.
