What happened to Mr. E's sister? (Gaiman's Books of Magic--open spoilers)

So there’s this part in Neil Gaiman’s Books of Magic miniseries where Mr. E has taken Tim to the end of time, and in the meantime John Constantine and some other folks are discussing whether this is a good idea–mentioning something about something bad that happened with Mr. E’s sister. I read in some online annotations that there’s a miniseries that delves into this, but couldn’t find any further explanation.

So. Can any of you comic book people out there explain to me what happened to Mr. E’s sister? Was she the one he was lusting after when he was blinded? Or did she have some kind of unrelated “crime” for which she was punished as well?

As a young boy Erik was repeatedly beaten by his father. Erik tried to protect his sister Katarina from his father, but failed. One day Erik found pictures of his mother and his sister hidden under his father’s bed. His father found out that Eric knew his secrets, so he took out Erik’s eyes with a sharpened spoon.
