What happens if Donald Trump actually wins the 2024 Republican nomination under indictment?

At least the prosecutors on Agnew’s case gave him an opportunity to resign in order to avoid charges.

Exactly!!! You are makeing my point for me!

Any prosecution of Hillary would have been politically motivated!

The same thing is going on now with Donald Trump!

Yes, they did. And those same people think it would be wrong to offer Trump such a deal. The situation is similar, but not identical.

ETA: And Agnew did have to plead guilty to one charge, so it’s more accurate to say he was allowed to resign in order to avoid jail time.

What? Trump had plenty of opportunities to resign while in office, and now that he is out of office he is running (partially?) again because he thinks it will stymie prosecution. What would Trump have to do and/or say for you not to support him?

You can repeat it as much as you want, it doesn’t make it true, despite what Fox News et al. want you to believe.

If you can’t see the difference, it’s because you don’t want to see the difference.

Well, if you watch Rachel Maddow’s show on MSNBC on a regular basis, you probably agree with most of her political views.

By the the way, she now has the highest rated show on cable news since Tucker Carlson left FOX.

Tucker Carlson was fired from FOX.

I have already admitted earlier that Trump dropping out of the Race is a viable option that I would accept.

I’m not sure what her political views are, but I do like her show.

Which just shows that you still support him and want him to get away with his felonies and possible espionage.

I am not trying to be condescending, but if you don’t care about politics, why do you watch her show?

That is all she talks about.

So you do watch her show on a regular basis.

Whether someone committed a crime is actually a very good thing to know if you’re wondering why the government didn’t pursue criminal charges. This is because, if the person didn’t commit a crime, the government won’t have evidence to bring to trial. Not having evidence and facts to support your claim is how you lose 60+ election lawsuits in a row.

Interestingly enough, trial judges, even Republican ones, require the prosecution to present something. Twitter doesn’t.

Repeated for emphasis.

If Trump pleads guilty to one count of obstruction of Justice, and doesn’t pursue any future federal office, I’m fine with him avoiding prison in this current federal case.

I think it would be a reasonable plea bargain.

I frequently vote for Republicans — and, on various issues, I’m to the right of them, which hasn’t stopped me from knocking on doors for Republicans, and volunteering at polling places for Republicans, and so on, and so on.

But I’m afraid my position on lawbreakers doesn’t look like it’d help your argument.

I didn’t say I don’t care about politics. I care quite a bit. I said I didn’t know Maddow’s political views.

Do you consider yourself to be a conservative republican?

There is a difference.

In other words, was Ronald Reagan one of the first politicians in your life that formed your republican political views originally.

Or if you were to young to be alive during the Reagan social and economic revolution, could this person have been let’s say Rush Limbaugh?

People who identify themselves as conservative republicans are not in some kind of cult that democrats want people to believe.

According to the 2020 election results, there are approximately 74 million of us, those who voted for Donald Trump.

And I consider that to be a conservative estimate.

Are you misspelling “democrats” on purpose, or have you just overlooked the corrections made in this thread, let alone the thousands of times you have seen it elsewhere?

And while we’re talking about “courtesy” and “decorum”, let’s not forget this point I made earlier:

You want us to show “courtesy” to Trump? We already did. He was politely asked to give back these documents, and given months in which to respond to that request.

Compare that to the idiot who posted a bunch of stuff on Discord. As soon as they knew who he was, and where he was, he was apprehended at gunpoint, and immediately bundled off to jail.

Trump had months of lounging around in his luxury golf club house, while he considered what to do. He decided to use that time to lie, conspire with other liars, suborn perjury, and produce knowingly false documents asserting that he had no such documents.

We were courteous beyond measure with this asshole, and he used that courtesy to shit on the law and the United States.

Not enough to win the election, it seems.
