Which one?
The one that is for the subject of this thread: Georgia.
I believe the grand jury will determine how perfect his phone call to Raffensperger really was.
they are getting ready to have jurors for 2 grand juries in ga. one for the election and one for the other criminal complaints; as crime has not taken a time out in fulton county.

Apparently refiling their absurd motion because Judge McBurney ignored it, so they went over his head. I’m not sure why he didn’t tell them to pound sand the first time they filed it.
That motion has been pending before Fulton County Superior Court Judge Robert McBurney, whom Trump’s attorneys also sought to have removed from the case. They cited his oversight of the special grand jury, which they claim was conducted “under an unconstitutional statute” and “through an illegal and unconstitutional process” that violated Trump’s due process rights.
I’m thinking somebody’s panties are in a bunch because the grand jury is supposedly starting to hear evidence in Atlanta.
Was this filed under that statute of “no fair, no takebacks”?
CMIIW, but the number of votes trump asked for in the infamous phone call was such that he would have “won” by one vote. Counts that close automatically trigger recounts, so how many votes would he have actually needed to prevent recount?
I don’t mean to hijack the thread but it seems relevant to ask about the makeup of the Georgia Supreme Court and how will this likely impact their decision.
I looked at the individual justices and for the most part there is little information on party affiliation. Half were appointed by the past Gov. Deal who was a D who switched to be an R and the other by the current Gov. Kemp an R. The 9th one was elected in 2018 so I assume R.
Weirdly the SCOG seats are filled by election but for various reasons 8 of the current 9 were appointed to the court by the two Governors. FWIW, 4 of the current justices will have to win reelection in 2024 to stay on the Court with the other 5 not up for reelection until 2026 or 2028.
That’s not uncommon. Judges frequently retire mid term to allow their replacement to be appointed.
And… has been denied. (Quelle surprise!)
Has it? Fantastic! I hadn’t seen that news yet. Great to hear that the Georgia Superior Court isn’t completely crazy.
I looked for a link (not too hard), but I already heard it reported out on MSNBC. They’re generally a reliable source.
I’m happy Trump wasted more of his money on a motion that was mostly characterized as a Hail Mary effort.
Angry Twooth Social rant in 5… 4… 3…
LOL, I notice they didn’t waste any time over issuing their ruling, either!
I guarantee you Loser Donald doesn’t think that far ahead. His proposal to the governor in his perfect phone call basically amounted to “Just lie and say I won by one vote, and everyone will believe you”, because he’s a pathological liar who’s used to lying and getting away with it.
Agreed. He figured it was no big deal for them to “find” just enough votes that donald wins.
I’m sure that donald was used to fudging his numbers when doing construction projects, and figured 11,780 votes just amounted to the same sort of rounding error where you usually would have padded your fees.
Here’s the link I promised.

They sure didn’t waste any time!
Thanks!! It does make me wonder why the original judge never ruled on the same motion they filed back in March. Thought it was too stupid to dignify with a response, maybe? I get that.
The question appears to be answered in the ruling, which @EddyTeddyFreddy kindly linked to in this thread:
Based on a quick read-through, it looks like Trump jumped the gun on Judge McBurney and filed his “appeal” before there was a ruling by Judge McBurney.
The Petition for Writ of Mandamus was denied because the Georgia Supreme Court believed it was premature and not properly before them. Moreover, they pointed out that even if the Petition had been properly filed, Trump’s remedies still would not include a basis to quash the proceedings.
Boom! (As they say.)
