My 7 year old had a tooth that had to be pulled. When the dentist pulled it, it came out completely in tact with the roots and all. The dentist said to be sure to hang on to it because it was a rare find. While my wife was perusing the tooth, it ocurred to her, if the tooth had fallen out on its own, as it was a baby tooth, it would not have had the roots attached.
So what the heck happens to the roots between the time a baby tooth would normally fall out and one that is prematurely pulled?
