Well, the Scotland thing won’t be forever. Give it another six months at most and (hopefully!) things will start to ease up travelwise.
Even if the town decides that it’s a code violation and chooses not to take him to court, he can still sue.
And if the town’s let him get away with it in the past, it definitely weakens their case that he can’t keep on doing what he’s doing. Which in civil court, means that damages may be lessened, or that a less than absolute deal might be struck.
His neighbors aren’t exactly poor either. If enough of them get antsy enough to get Trump out of there, they can make the city very motivated to do something drastic.
It occurs to me that some of them may not be anxious to lower the boom on trumpy if they are also fudging on the neighborhood rules. Not to the extent that he is, but even if it’s in a smaller way, they may not want a spotlight to be pointed on all the local practices.
Could be, but Trump’s agreement wasn’t a general rule, but a contract between him and the town.
True, but others may have similar contracts. And you know how trumpy approaches every challenge: “No, you’re the one who <fill in the blank>!” Just speculating.
So a biplane has been trolling Mar a Lago, all day, flying a banner behind, that reads,
‘Trump-worst president ever!’
I’ll send fuel money if they’ll do it again tomorrow.
This is what I’m rooting for. A nice frisky hurricane that dawdles along the coast, and washes Mar a Largo into the sea without quite hitting anything else.
Hey, a voter can dream.
If the club is closed, then he won’t be able to charge the government a fortune for providing rooms for his secret service bodyguards. Also the real estate taxes will be enormous (and he cannot weasel out of them without losing the property) and he can deduct at most $10K of them thanks to a recent tax law. And all the maintenance will now be payable in after-tax dollars. Not a pretty picture.
I’m Elendil’s Heir, and I approve this policy.

He owns 3 other big houses nearby so he could just move to one of those
Well I certainly hope he moves to a “big house” soon.

Got a sharpie?
It is truly amazing how few people ask this question.
Off topic, but along these lines - many years ago my wife was counseling a woman who mentioned her neighbor’s grass had gotten way too tall and asked if she could do anything about it. My wife told her yes, she could call the city and they’ll make them mow it, or fine them.
A couple of weeks later, my wife asked her if she called them, and she said something like “Yes I did, but I shouldn’t have! They not only wrote them up, but went down our whole street writing people up. They told us we’re going to have to move the boat out of our front yard, and I don’t know how we’re going to do that, 'cause it’s not on a trailer.”
Oops!
“Even worse, I found out the neighbor had been growing their grass tall to try to block their view of our boat! Waaah! Now everybody hates me and it all your fault Dr. CurtCWife!!”
I’m just wondering how it got there without a trailer in the first place.
Sometimes flooding can be useful.
